GT5 is the first of the series on the current generation of hardware. GT1 outsold GT2 on the PS1, GT3 outsold GT4 on the PS2. GT5 should be compared to GT1 or GT3 (unfortunately we don't have the numbers for either). It'll sail past 2.5 million with ease. If prologue managed to do 4 million already (with digital sales), imagine if that game only managed to convince 50% of the buyers.. That's 2 million right there, + much larger number of people who didn't buy prologue and are waiting for the full game.
So 3 million is a more reasonable estimate. My personal guess is 3.5 million.
