Square Enix CEO: We're 'going to explore the possibility' of Final Fantasy VII remake

So far, Square Enix has said that a Final Fantasy VII remake would be "unrealistic," "tough to do in HD" and "not happening." But hold out hope, die-hards, because during an interview at FFXIII's launch party, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada finally admitted that the company is "going to explore the possibility" of revisiting the classic RPG. He didn't completely reverse the long-held position, as he says Square Enix has to decide "whether or not we're going to do it, if we're going to do it, and the platform," but he did finally admit that there have been a lot of fan requests

Of course, the huge success of the game's re-release on PSN probably didn't hurt either. If Square's convinced a remake will sell (and people will play through Gaia yet again, possibly even on yet another platform), we'll probably see it somewhere sooner or later. to see the game in a new form, so he's giving it some solid thought.

Hopefully PS3 or PS4...Sony only as a BIG THANK YOU for making this game at this time possible on THEIR Playstation...Bringing the Fame and BÄM to Squaresoft and making them who they are now or better said were in the good days.
But they shouldn't do it if they cant make the game > Native < 1080p ingame with Worldmap,Towns at everything....No upscaled crap from 576p and such stuff.
They should do the best what they can with the game...Hell they should let look Versus 13 like a SNES game in comparison.

Buuuut, if it WAS on the 360. Wouldn't it be on like, 9 discs? They DID say it would be like 3x bigger than XIII...

Yeah yeah , release the ones you are developing first, i already played this game a couple of times i don't want to play it again.

I'd rather have Square Enix make a Xenogears Remake for the PSP.

I've steadily been growing tired of all the FF7 hype over the years, despite the fact I really love the game its never been my favourite (that would be FFIX) but I felt compelled to revisit it recently and I have to say I forgot how good the game is.

Although 9 is my favourite I would have to say 7 really is the one I'd like to see remade the most, it seems like it would benefit from the treatment more than the others.
