drink milk and do squats. seriously.

i put on 15 pounds. in three months doing this, pretty steady increase. but then again, being 15 you are still going through a lot changes.

Depends if ur just light, like many kids are at your age, and i was, or if your... really light. I mean, you in the triple digits, right? over 100 pounds?



 

 

wow your story souds just like mine (I'm 5' 6'' and weigh 88 pounds). Diefference between you and me: you claim to enjoy eating, while I'm very picky about what I eat (I find lots foods disgusting and bothered by the particular textures of certain foods). At least you say people (outsideyour family) find you attractive, which should boost your self confidence a little.

Definately suggest you start working out. It should positively affect you both phisically and mentally. Also eat healthy foods and join a team sport. Beleive me, you don't want to not do those things and end up like me: low self confidence, low self worth, bad physical health (weak bones, hormonol problems, low testosterone levels), bad mental health (depression, social anxienty, suicidal tendencies).

You should also go see a doctor!

It's not that unusual to weight less than girls really. You have to do some sports to develop muscles (more than you need for just moving around). Guys naturally develop more muscles than girls, but they also hit and complete puberty later. And before puberty it's almost equal for both as far as body shape goes.

I remember that at school quite a few guys' voices hadn't broken yet and there already were girls with clearly defined hips/boobs, not fat ones, just already pretty developed. You still get weight from that (even if it's not as much as from muscles), so they might well weighted more.

A word of warning about gaining a lot of weight, if you're in your growth spurt. Don't go overboard, the extra weight can mess up your knees during that time (even just growing too fast can do that to you).
Anyway, I'd suggest good meals (have some eggs for breakfast, eat meat, enough vitamin intake) and a more general endurance and muscle building sport (running, swimming or some team sports) rather than protein shakes and the gym.



Yeah, higt the gym. I am skinny like you, but after a few months of going to the gym I can clearly see my muscles growing (don't expect too much out of this, it goes quite slow).

Remember to eat well after the work out so your muscle growth can reach its maximum potential.
Oh, and I wouldn't suggest eating unhealthy food just to get more weight, it's not good for your body.

Have you checked your Body Mass Index? Anything between 18.5 and 25 is good, means healthy and you need to stay that way.

Don't know if the above link works in US but look up Body Mass Index and see what you can find.
If you are really worried take up a sport or 2, if you don't fancy the american football or anything like that, try taking up Squash or something, very physically enduring and great for upper body.

seriously, talk with a real doctor. See if you are seriously underweight or not. I knew someone who looked like a skeleton who seriously needed to eat, but if that is you in the avatar you look fine.

As for putting on weight. Moderate weight bearing exercises would help build muscle rather than just fat. Eat about 500 calories per day more than you need to maintain your weight. So you could go to a website like my-calorie-counter.com and use that as a food journal, and monitor your weight. If you are staying steady than add 500 calories per day. That will help you gain 1lb/week. If you are exercising building muscle you'll turn out great rather than turning into flab because you downed a whole bunch of protein shakes and sat on your butt.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

well, like I said, if you just sit on your butt and eat lots of food the majority of the calories will turn into fat. If you go the gym and weight lift, you'll convert more calories to muscle rather than just fat. You just need to eat more calories than your body uses up along with weight lifting (along with a balanced diet and sufficient protein which most americans get no problem). I mean, I'd rather have big byceps than a big gut. I'm not in perfect shape myself, but I'm working on it. 6 years of not caring does a lot to your body
