Is this a good thing or a bad thing for FFXIII on 360?

On the one hand the 360 version is getting more advertising air time, so that's positive for 360 FFXIII sales.

On the other hand it implies the exclusive bundle hasn't flown off the shelves, which means perhaps sales of the bundle, at least, aren't what was hoped for.

What's the normal expectation for limited edition bundles? Perhaps if there isn't a special edition console that comes with the game (like MW2) the bundle has a slower sell through and will be available for some weeks post launch.

I would go with it hasn't flown off the shelves since most bought it on PS3.

The manager a the gamestop I go to said that they've only sold I think 2 or 3,(I know that doesn't really factor into it's overall sales) I don't think it was a bad idea for FF XIII to come the 360, but maybe the bundle wasn't that good of an idea.(IMO)

this t.v. station I watch called G4 is still showing the Final Fantasy XIII commercial, so Microsoft still is getting the word out on the FFXIII bundle

At least in my area the bundle doesn't look like it's selling too well. The Gamestop midnight launch that I went to had about 40 people there, a little less than half getting the 360 version, and quite literally no one got the bundle. Another Gamestop in the area still has a several on display, although I don't know how many they got initially.

If it had custom case art, it would have gone so fast. MS fail on that one. It's probably doing fine and they made a hundred thousand or more, that'll take a minute to sell through.

Yeah what DirtyP said. The MW2 bundle was selling for awhile. We don't know how "limited" this FF13 bundle is.

If it was selling poorly, I'd say it might be because most people who want a 360 want the cheaper skus and don't care too much for bang for your buck. Charging $100 more for 130 GB more hard drive space, an extra controller, FF13 and a FF13 faceplate is a sweet deal. But at the end of the day, it's still $400 right? And the Xbox 360 Arcade according to NPD outsold the 120 GB Elite by a bit in February. When over half of your potential buyers choose an Xbox 360 Arcade over a Xbox 360 Elite, why would they cough up an extra $200 to get a FF13 Super Elite?

Also in Canada, they are selling Arcades for $130 still! In the mind of the thrifty consumer who just wants an Xbox 360, why would you get a Super Elite for $400 in Canada when you can just pick up an Arcade and a 60 GB Live Starter Pack (60 GB hard drive, headset, ethernet cord and 3 months XBL Gold) for just $210 in total at Best Buy?

You also have to take into account the massive popularity of MW2 (FF13 sold what? 420k on the 360 in Americas week 1? MW2 360 sold 3.2m+ week one in Americas). If you really wanted a $400 Super Elite bundle, you probably would have already bought the MW2 bundle before the FF13 bundle came out.

I was wondering about what MW2's bundle went like. So really it's expected that a bundle (even a limited one) will continue to be available and marketed for a number of weeks post launch.

@Commonman. I agree, some sweet 360 case art would have generated a lot more interest. But the expense of doing it might not have stacked up against the likely benefits.

I went to Best Buy on it's release day to buy a birthday present and half the bundles were already gone in the huge tray.

I dunno the PS3 version is still sold out in my town

The 360 bundles got sold out on day 1

360 copies are still there, but the bundles saw "massive demand" according to my GAME store manager.
