Forums - Gaming - To Microsoft and Nintendo fans

Not even comparable. Nintendo has a spread approach, with games for everyone. Pure diversion, replayability and accessibility are the strong points of the first party offers made by Nintendo, while Sony and Microsoft focus on the 15-30 year old male, providing spectacular film-based experience, story driven games, but with less sheer fun.

Got any fun graphs to back that statement up?

This thread should not be opinion based..

Sony simply doesn't make many games that I'm interested in playing. There's a PS2 and a PS3 in my household, and Gran Turismo is the only Sony franchise among the games for them.

It seems unfair for me to judge them when I don't play them, but I guess if they don't make anything that I want to play, that counts as 'not in the same league?'

I don't mean to pick on you but this is a really stupid statement.  Of course it should be opinion based, that's exactly what Gilgamesh is asking for.  Without opinion we would all just be playing Metascores and GTA IV is the best game this gen.

I personally, generally have a preference for Nintendo first party games above all others as a feel they tend to have a certainly intangible quality that many other developers can't achieve, or at least achieve as often.  However I am a gamer first and foremost and enjoy top quality games from any developer, Sony included, and their best games are in the same league as Nintendo's.

Flashy, substance is there. Several are a tad flimsy in control and overall execution in my opinion.

Pixel Art can be fun.

This is the first gen where sony is actually making the best games for their platform. PS1 and PS2 were amazing systems because of 3rd party efforts. If Sony was to be compared to nintendo (hell even sega during PS1/ early ps2 days) with first party efforts, they would have been laughed out of the room.

As far as PS3, sony is finally making solid quality games that I would like to play.
The problem is that so are microsoft and Nintendo. And there is just so much spare time...

When people have never even looked at sony's first party achievements, it makes them look incredibly biased, and that includes every single poster in this thread.

Microsoft has nothing.

Sony does have some pretty decent titles (isn't uncharted first party?)

But still Nintendo takes the cake in terms of quality and quantity. No other company pumps out so many good games every year.

Yeah microsoft is doomed. They got no first party titles...never had, never will.

I need to get out of this thread.. but it makes me feel so irritated to know that people actually think like this..
