There is nothing short sighted about it, it's far more short-sighted to declare ANY game the "Best Game Ever". I've been gaming since the NES days, and when I look back on it all this game doesn't even crack my top 10. Any body that lived through NES, SNES, N64 and PS1 will have a hard time pointing to any current  game and declaring it the best of all time.

It's definitely great, but not the best, but is a must have.

Demon's Souls and MGS4 are my top 2 games this gen, and Uncharted 2 is in my top 5.

There is no such thing as a wrong opinion, but I don't have to respect it either. I'm just giving you reasons why I don't take people that consider it their top game seriously. You may not like it, but I really could care less.

for me not even close.
I wouldn't consider it the best game in existence, nor the best game of this gen, nor the best game on the PS3, nor the best game of 2009, nor Naughty Dog's best game.

Not really. Many people don't feel that who have grown up during that time. It's not that simple and never has been that simple.
