I don't think Modern Warfare 2 deserves it, honestly. If it was Assassin's Creed 2 or Uncharted 2, I'd agree.

It is a great game with an amazing online. Not my personal choice, but any of those games are worthy of the recognition. The fact the MW2 receive the awards is cool in my book. Congrats.

I guess this shows that the general public prefer a recycled FPS game over a genuine masterpiece, which pushed many aspects of video games to a new level.

All 3 games deserved it.

People are just angry, because CoD4 was already a masterpiece and Infinity Ward only improved some parts of it and didn't completely redesign it.
And personally I don't see what Uncharted 2 did so special than other AAA games.
My personal vote would go to Assassin's Creed 2, with Modern Warfare 2 as a close 2nd and Uncharted 2 as 3rd (out of these 3)
