1. Increased piracy

2. Launching on a last gen system - This is further proved by the fact that GoW II sold near equal amount as I in Europe where PS3 launched late.

These games could have easily become 5m+ sellers...

So what do the "125m userbase" trolls have to say now ? I remember some people predicting 2.5 million life time for III !

III should easily sell 3.5m - 4 million.. Has a chance at 5 if legs are awesome...

i agree. god of war 3 already sold 450,000 copies on the 1st day. Is should be well over a million in one week for worldwide sales. Also i think sony already made a profit considering th amount of ultimate editions thay sold

The LTD sales are going to be bigger than Uncharted 2.

GoW III will easily surpass those numbers, 5 Million LTD.

About userbase, I don't really think it matters. Look at mario kart DD or Meelee. They sold more than a lot of ps2 big hitters, on a 1/6 userbase.

I'll buy god of war 3 eventually. I'm playing the second one right now. I've beat the first one,but not the second one. I got the god of war collection.

Wow, God of War 3 could definitely do 4-4.5 mil LTD, if all goes well.

Total God Of War series sales (up till 16 March 2010) for PS2 , PSP and PS3
God Of War COO : 2.28 mil
God Of War : 3.72 mil
God Of War 2 : 3.07 mil
God Of War Collection : 0.74 mil
God Of War 3 : 0.45 mil (in americas only first day)

Total sales : 10.26 MILLION!!!!!
That is amazing for a hack and slash series.
Ninja Gaiden (post 2004) sold only 3.32 million (Xbox , Xbox 360 , DS and PS3)
DMC series sold only 9.06 million (PS2 , PS3 and Xbox 360)

Thus God Of War is the dominant God Of Hack n Slash Sales!!!!
