OHHH takeru, you are 19, so you haven't done squat yet or lived real life yet once you get out on your own and experience real life you can debate with the taxpaying adults
yeah NC denied Colbert's attempt to get on the ballet so he withdrew his bid. Anything new on that I'm not up on feel free to pitch in.
and TC another to add to your list, "OMG I'm not voting Republican again!"
So, let's just start with this: (ILO Stats)
Global Unemployment Rate (2006) - 6.3 %.
EU - 6.2%
Highest in the World: Middle East/North Africa - 12.2%
So, go blatant falsehoods! Woot! Europe is the socialist wasteland that is drowning in it's own liberal piss! Wait, or... it's just Europe.
Ripper, as a student with a Masters Degree, please differentiate social conservatism, fiscal conservatism, conservative (Political) finances. You are having difficulty separating them, and proving you understand the differences will help your arguments more so than what you have done. I spend all day talking with PHD's, and many of them are absolutely brilliant at their fields, eminent scholars even, but have a grade school understanding of finances. Though they at least don't just make shit up about numbers.

Seriously? Ron Paul would not "save" America... He has some very appealing Libertarian viewpoints, but I would much rather have my roads, schools, and hospitals be built by tax dollars than private corporations. Contrary to foolhardy opinion, we need taxes for the country to work. If we started taxing the right people, our country would be very "saved" and we could actually have some decent public works again. |
Where to start :)
Ron Paul has sent all of his children to government school. He doesn't want to end the government schools, which are almost completely funded by the state and local governments, anyway. That is right, even though he doesn't want to end government schools, he has no power to end them anyway.
Most roads and almost all road funding comes from state and local governments. Yes, the federal government does collect gas taxes and it sends most of the money back to the states to help them pay for the interstates they build.
Most hospitals are owned by private companies in America. There are some local and state hospitals, also. The federal government has some control over these but gives almost no funding. There as also military hospitals, which Ron Paul supports. Ron Paul doesn't want to end taxes. He wants to make taxes more fair and easier to understand. Yes, he supports much lower federal taxes and much more state and local control, but he certainly understands the need for some federal taxes and has even proposed some increases in federal taxes.
Ron Paul's big things are-Most Americans want to end the war in Iraq. There are around a 1/2 dozen people running for office that are very interested in the idea but only 3 that are very serious about this and Ron Paul is the only Republican. Most Americans want lower taxes and Ron Paul is the only person running for office that is serious about this issue. Most Americans support a smaller and smaller federal government every year and Ron Paul is the only person running for office that supports this. Most Americans support less lobbyist control in Washington and Ron Paul is one of about 3 people running for office that doesn't get much money from lobbyists.
I urge everyone that is able to learn more about Ron Paul and maybe even donate money (only Americans may) to him on the Boston Tea Party date in December.

of course i was exaggerating to be funny however this foudations has europes unemployment rate at 7.9% for 2006, down from the 9's in previous years, still almost twice the unemployment rate of the US
FreeTalk: Actually, you should urge everyone who intends on voting to look into all major candidates, any past history that may indicate pure political bullshit, any previous claims or work history. Sadly, if you do that, you'll find that out of 6, 6 of them are going to be untrustworthy.
But as a voter, you should responsibly look into who you are voting as your personal voice and your countries representative.

another EUROPEAN website speaks about the us economy vs. europe, mentions employment as well, and of course europe has come a long ways since the mid 90's when many countries DID have a mid teens unemployment rate and of course we are comparing one country to 15 or 25 depending on which set of numbers you use.. did any of you ever stop to think how america became so wealthy in only 200 years? FREE MARKET ECONOMY...

You're comparing a country to a continent. Maybe you should throw in Canada and Mexico's unemployment and try again. Oh wait, that comparison would be useless, wouldn't it?
