So I was playing Pokémon Soul Silver and this girl (in the game) tells me Pikachu is an evolved Pokémon! (lol)

I guess everybody knew that but it's a huge suprise for me. It's also kind of a disappointment in a way ahah

Is it Pichu? I thought Pichu was some kind of evolution with a rock (moonstone something like that).

But then what are the + and the - Pikachu? I'm confused. I remember seeing them somewhere on TV and I was like wth.

I always assumed it was

Pichu -> Pikachu -> Raichu

I don't have any clue what the rock thingies are. Yes I'm a pokemon noob.

Pichu evolves into Pikachu after you level it up once when it loves you. Then Pikachu evolves into Raichu using a thunderstone. Pichu was introduced in generation 2 [Gold/Silver].

Plusle [the plus pichu you were talking about] and Minum [the minus] are just stand alone pokemon that don't evolve and are not evolutions of other pokemon. They were introduced in Generation 3.

No pichu is the pre evolved from of pikachu, it evolves with kindness on a certain level, not a moon stone. Plusle and Minun are totally different pokemon from the 3rd gen games.

Even I knew this.
