Just my opinion but...

The rules and regulations of a job, in respect to dress, must be observed. It is a private institution. If they want you to dress up in a bra and panties, that is part of the job. If they don't want you to wear hoodies, then that is their choice. Likewise, you should be able to vacate the job if you don't like their dress code.

To me, I think the guy is a moron. If the job doesn't want you to wear a hoodie, then that is what they want. This guy could never get a job as an executive, dressing like that.

but it's not his job, it's a jobcenter, and he didn't work there he was inquiring about something...

To be honest, as soon as I read that he was going into a job centre I just though that he was probably claiming on his dole money and thought of another way to get money off the government. A presumption that is probably wrong.

This guy is an idiot and no one should apologise for anything.

Hmm, pie.

With that out of the way... doesn't your government have a list that splits cult from organized religion from... well nothing?

Well, yes. But you see, Jedi is the fourth largest religion in the UK. You can't call it a cult here really, which is very odd.

He's an idiot, but he should have the same rights as every other idiot (including the religious ones).

I first took this as sarcasm.

However, I bothered to Wikipedia it... and oh my god... your not being sarcastic.

Though to be fair, it does look like for most people it's not actually a belief but a practical joke.  If an actual religion comes out of the practical joke... holy crap.

I can't believe you have more Jedi then Jews.

Jediism sounds as stupid as christianity, Islam, Judism,  Scientology, flying spaghetti monster to me.

None of those religions is based on the truth.

Judism is a small religion by the way(nowadays), so it's not that unbelieveable that you have more Jedi's then Jews in your country.

I wouldn't really consider ancient religions based on books scriptures and tales about god as the same as a religion that's made up for the sake of being made up, and a religion based on movies, that don't even really have a religious meaning and that the guy who made it isn't even of that religion.

I apologize, I was about to make a response about how dumb I thought this entire event was but I couldn't stop laughing at the article.

It's rather hypocritical to defend your beliefs with the idea that you have faith in it and then turn around and insult people who follow a different faith based on movies that are created for the sake of entertainment.

If you're going to argue that the difference is in how long the religion has been in this world then don't bother. Judaism pre-dates Christianity and Islam. Ironically, they're both branched out from Judaism. Therefore, Judaism beats all except, arguably, Hinduism, Shintoism, or Confucianism.

Point is, beliefs have never been about facts. It's about faith. It doesn't matter what the religion developed from, all that matters is that it is recognized as such because there is faith in it.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

One is based off of actual religious texts... meant to be religious.  The other is based off of a science fiction movie series, meant to entertain people.

Anybody who thinks thinking the second is stupid hypocritical for someone who believes in the first... either doesn't know what the term hypocritical means or is being ridiculiously intellectually dishonest.

There's only 2 sources that talk about the historical Jesus. Only Josephus and Tacitus talk about him, but only one short sentence. The new testamony is written long after Jesus died, so it's historically incorrect. Unless you think they can remember all those quotes from Jesus 50 years after his death lol.

There for christianity is a complete lie in my humble opinion. But hey, if you believe in christianity then please do so, everyone has the right to believe in what they want.

Edit: Oops, quoted the wrong guy. This was meant for Kasz.
