With that out of the way... doesn't your government have a list that splits cult from organized religion from... well nothing?

Well, yes. But you see, Jedi is the fourth largest religion in the UK. You can't call it a cult here really, which is very odd.

I first took this as sarcasm.

However, I bothered to Wikipedia it... and oh my god... your not being sarcastic.

Though to be fair, it does look like for most people it's not actually a belief but a practical joke. If an actual religion comes out of the practical joke... holy crap.

I can't believe you have more Jedi then Jews.

Jediism sounds as stupid as christianity, Islam, Judism,  Scientology, flying spaghetti monster to me.

None of those religions is based on the truth.

Judism is a small religion by the way(nowadays), so it's not that unbelieveable that you have more Jedi's then Jews in your country.

I wouldn't really consider ancient religions based on books scriptures and tales about god as the same as a religion that's made up for the sake of being made up, and a religion based on movies, that don't even really have a religious meaning and that the guy who made it isn't even of that religion.

It's rather hypocritical to defend your beliefs with the idea that you have faith in it and then turn around and insult people who follow a different faith based on movies that are created for the sake of entertainment.

If you're going to argue that the difference is in how long the religion has been in this world then don't bother. Judaism pre-dates Christianity and Islam. Ironically, they're both branched out from Judaism. Therefore, Judaism beats all except, arguably, Hinduism, Shintoism, or Confucianism.

Point is, beliefs have never been about facts. It's about faith. It doesn't matter what the religion developed from, all that matters is that it is recognized as such because there is faith in it.
