I agree, went to the midnight launch , came home and played a few hours, the game is amazing, hard to find words to describe. Yes graphics are better then Uncharted 2, which is just nuts. I could not believe it, there was about 1000 people at the midnight launch at gamestop, I dont think everyone got a game because I overheard someone asking if they had extra copies because they did not pre order, and he was told no, so everyone did not get a game. but I could not beleive the amount of people, the line was down the street, to a restraunt called johnny carinnos. it was crazy.

I do have to agree, the game is like nothing else. I got the game on Friday and I already played for about 4 hours. The game is really amazing and the magnitude is out of this world.
I still cant believe that such a game is setting at a 9.4 metacrtic, it deserves more.

GOTY confirmed, everything else is way behind (including Uncharted 2).

93 at this point...but who's counting :)

OP: Visuals and macho badassness is what God of war always did best. the game looks badass when looking at youtube vids alone, I can imagine playing it is even more awesome.

GOW1 had lower metacrtic than Resident Evil 4 and it still won most of the GOTY awards in 2005...

Got to love when people make things up.

Major publications see 2005 game of the year awards like this:

Resident Evil 4: 13 wins

God of War: 3 wins

Even if you count your 10 secret blogs which giving GOW game of the year awards...they are still tied. :D

YOu are right, RE4 did recived more GOTY awards. I didnt realized game recived scores THAT good. But even though RE4 recived more GOTY awards, GOW 1 recived more awards overall.

^both are amazing games...lets agree on that :)

Iv been playing the game since last night, and it really is on another level, its like a movie. Played for about 6 hours straight last night and the only reason why i stopped was because my eyes started to water up and i felt a headache coming on.

I cant wait to get home and continue, the boss fights are insane. Poseidon was about 15 mins alone. Hades boss battle was about 10 mins long. The controls are sick and very different from the previous games once the magic spells come into play. If you get a hang of the controls early in the game Kratos becomes almost unstoppable.
All the vids we have seen on the internet does not do justice to this game, you have experience this in person.
