Wait, they're going to release an inferior version on PSP? That seems... dumb.

How do you think the first two came about? MH1 > MHP, MH2 > MH2P

OT:  Kinda sucks MH3 never made it to ps3.  They could've done some psp/ps3 cross compatability like in Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, or Gran Turismo.  This MHP could've stood out from the others as a result of some form of integration with it's console predecessor.

I was under the impression MHP anD MH2P were identical to their Ps2 versions in content.

Nope. They are original (well original as a hackneyed series can be)

I kind of figured this was a foregone conclusion. The portable versions of MH always do better than the console versions; even the worst-selling portable MH is mopping the floor with the best-selling console MH, sales-wise. They'd be fools to turn down that kind of easy money.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

The worst selling portable is mopping the floor with the best selling console version... I wouldn't say so.

Monster Hunter Wii is about 250K ahead of MHFreedom during the same period.

2. Lance

3. Gunlance

4. Broadsword

5. Longsword

6. Hammer

7. Instrument...thingy thats name escapes me...

8. Dual Swords

9. Bows

10. Light Bow Gun

11. Heavy Bow Gun

Monster hunter is not new people.......rather a lot of people are new to it....

A LOT of content was cut from this game, and a LOT of content was put in. Same game at it's core but different monsters and equipment.

A PSP game ALWAYS gets announced a few months after the next game. You have to remember its been released in Japan for some time, so right about now is time for the portable announcment.

The last games pretty much took an entire DVD on the PS2.....there is a shit load of content, and i can only imagine they took out a lot of weapon types to make room for the better graphics.

I have played all of the PSP Monster Hunter games. Seeing as how this will suposedly come off MH3 rather than previous portable games, expanding the weapons from 5 in the Wii version to 12 in the PSP one is ridiculous. Especially since Capcom decided to cut the number to 5 for balancing & tweaking issues.

Based from what we're told though, this is different then Tri....while the PSP games arn't carbon copies of the console ones, they're in the realm of pretty close. From what we're told, they're not going to be even close.....I'm interested really.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2
