Forums - Gaming - Crysis 2 Versus Killzone 2 Screenshot Comparison

Both games look great, Not really a fair comparison I think, Now Killzone 3 vs Crysis 2 would be more like it, but Killzone 2 is still a thing of Beauty. Also the Crysis 2 screen shots could of been from PC, I can't wait for both of these games though, there both on my must have list.

So im not the only who thinks this way.. nice!

It'd be "nicer" if you had explanations. You're just running around touting: "ALL GRAPHICS ARE TRICKS"!! Tricks are used in game visuals, sure, but since you said EVERY game is nothing but tricks, can you elaborate further?

Ok lets see, Take a fantasy setting, guy A has skin texture and armor on top.  Guy B has the same armor texture but when you equip his model with armor it dumps the skin underneath because

1) you cant see it at the time

2) it saves memory for other things.

There simple example of a trick, ALL games use them.

All games may use tricks, sure, but what does it matter? It still takes processing power, engine work, and other stuff to get these games to look the way they do. Just because games use tricks doesn't mean what you see isn't what you get.

gears of war 2 uses 2d sprites for flying scenes

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Wow I didn't release Crysis 2 had been released already! /sarcasm

Pointless comparison at this stage.

meh it looks good at times. Other times the low res alpha effects,  Quincunx AA and frame rate drops ruin it

Killzone 2 is out.

Crysis 2 is not.

Ergo, there isn't really much room for comparison yet.

Why is this even a comparison? At full settings, the original Crysis absolutely annihilated Killzone 2 in the graphics department. Crysis 2 will look even better.

That's not a knock on Killzone 2, that's just reality. The PS3 and 360 are rapidly becoming Speak-n-Spells compared to high-end PC equipment.
