God of War Collection (I + II) = Metacritic 91

God of War III = MC 93

Darksiders = MC 82

Bayonetta = MC 86

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 = MC 83

OK, how can a re-release with updated graphics hold a MC of 91, compared to far newer and much more superior games?  I've played all these games except GoW III which I will add tomorrow.  GoW I and II don't hold a candle to the others.  Not because they weren't great games (at the time), but simply because the newer games are that much better, deeper, and visually appealing (I have all the respect in the world for GoW, but lets face it, tech 5 years ago could not do what it does today...).

classics are classics

if FFVII re-released today with upgraded graphics, it would still score better than 99% of other games today.

games with great battle mechanics and story > JUST graphics.

Those games are better because you say so. Reviewers say that God of War Collection is a better value than those other games. You say the opposite. I don't even know you.

There's nothing wrong with relying on reviews, after all, how am I supposed to know anything about a game?  I could ask for opinions here, but I don't really like hoards of biased opinions followed by people telling me to buy other games I don't care about.

Now there's the people that only pay attention to the numbers (like the OP I assume) that I have a problem with, but I let them stay in their own little world and have fun in their thread just like this one that appears every week.

The scores you pointed to arent that much better than each other. Plus everyone here knows the review system is far beyond repair.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Your second paragraph is what i meant actually, i dont mind reviews to point issues but the ppl who say "this got 8/10 not playing it" or "this game got a higher score than games so its has better" basically relying only on a number and nothing else

One of the main resons for GoW Collection scoring so high is value.

There is 2 GREAT games in GoW Collection. The rest are great games, yes. But the value in GoW Collection is too great to match for them.
