142 is pretty thin for 5'9" - you should eat some more. It's not underweight, but I think it's only 10 pounds from it - if you're continuing to lose weight, you should be careful. I've been hovering around that weight most of my life, and if I could gain more weight healthily I would (ridiculous metabolism)

I agree choisrsoftheye not trying to be douche-bag but have you tried working out more with weights that is cuz u know muscle is heavier than fat which would increase your weight a little or lot. I also have a ridiculous metabolism

thnx for clearing up that pound-kilogram ratio issue. Well i diet because i haven't changed my lifestyle all that much, i have always played a big amount of sports, yet due to my large amount of eating i always stayed at 156 pounds (somewhere around that anyway). That of course caused me to have a signifcant belly :P. As i am now, i can say that if i worked on my stomach muscles i would be considered to be very well built. As i am now(with an little plump for muscles :P) people think that i still have too much fat on me.

Edit: Now with the correct ratio it seems that before i started dieting i weighed 187 ounds and currently i weigh some 158. How does that sound?

Yeah, I lifted weights and even played football for two years of high school.  Didn't make a difference.  I was a lifelong vegetarian at that point, though, and since then I really haven't had the time to do long workouts (college took up a ton of time, and 40 hours of work a week is well, a lot of time, and I'd have to pay for a gym at this point).  I'm starting up on some simple routines that don't that well.

And no worries, you're not being a douchebag at all.

@Wojtas - that is a pretty ideal weight for your height.  I'd say that eating a bit more might help with the headaches.  Or drinking more liquid - do you drink a lot of water?  Headaches can come from dehydration.

people die from dieting. they die from doing sports. just watch out a bit

Don't worry i don't paln to kick the bucket any time soon :). I drink a fair amount of liquids, juices mostly. I have problems with eating regularly because of my studies, there are days when i'm so overworked that i can't eat dinner or supper.

Further still i have lately gone on a diet. Assuming that one pound is aroud two kilograms, then i weighed (187) pounds and have dropped to (158) in somewhat three months, and i'm holding on to this level. I'll add that i'm some 5 feet 9 inches high. What has all this done to me? I'm constantly out of strength to do stuff. Seriously? I never imagined that something as healthy as sports and diets could give one such a headache.

Any experience on your part, people?

You were overweight at 187 -- by about 20 pounds. So losing 30 pounds overall isn't all that big of a deal, assuming you have fairly regular musculature. You did lose it over a very short period (10 pounds per month is on the edge of healthy weight loss). I'm not a doctor, but I wouldn't recommend losing much more weight. You could try to maintain your weight and improve your lean body mass ratio with a high protien diet.

I actually had a very similar experience when I recommitted to weight training earlier this year. I lost >10% of my weight (182 -> 162) at the same height as you. I certainly don't want to lose any more weight.  It would be worth counting your calories to determine if you were getting enough food intake -- and since most of your activity is cardio, you may need more high energy food.  Bananas would be a good suppliment to your current diet if you don't eat them already
