Good thread, but I think many have the problem of "would they do the same for us?" which is a reasonable notion. Of course, you do the right thing all the time, not if it will be returned, but most have issue with that. I know a lot of people who are encouraging this thread, probably would take the same mentality had it been flipped around.
Personally, when it comes to Move, I'm intrigued by it, and more than likely will be getting it, but I am a little annoyed and rather cautious as to the success of it because of the lack of the "sony identity" on the product. Not because it is a "clone" but because they have nothing to really separate it from the rest.
Indeed, it is a good thing for the industry to keep moving in this direction for Nintendo, but the industry needs to progress, not stay stale. One of the reasons the "casual" market has had issues on Wii and DS, is because they are all simply trying to imitate the games Nintendo have created rather than take that next step forward (similar problems in the market in general actually). That is what would really be good for the advancement of the motion sensing market, but it is good that Sony is willing to put research and development into this and future products of the same kind.
So yes, Nintendo fans need to lighten up on Move and Sony fans. It's not about if they would have done the same for you, nor is it about some of the blaring hypocrisy in their words or notions. The point is, this is overall good for the industry and good for the future of what Nintendo is trying to accomplish. Now with competition, this will push Nintendo (and the rest) to make better games and advance the motion sensing market.
