I think a big reason there was so many posts is because PS fans kept posting videos of a green ball to say they were firts in motions and that it wasn't defeat....
the other thing people were angry at is sony for dissing the motion controls for 3 years and then give us a.... wiimote, with wii sports non the less...
What I understood from nintendo's comment is that they are disapointed because the competition has jumped the ship mid gen and not at the end of the gen. Both move and Natal will split the userbase of the console... basicaly being the equivalent of having 2 consoles out at the same time.
This is not admitting defeat. Admitting defeat is starting work on the next console with the said improvements. There they are trying to regain market share to be able to say "look we got the sales, we didn't fail after all", all this at the expense of the quality delivered to the customers.
