Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo fans- We need to talk

I have never made fun of the Sony Move and never made a thread about the Move but may make one in the future(Not making fun of it) Even though I was not one of the people who made fun of Move I must say that I am not happy about it and I refuse to support it because its way too close to the remote and nunchuck design. I wouldn't care if it was Motion control at all and I laugh when the Wii gets messed with and think its funny when Sony and Microsoft bring it down but its so close to the Wii Remote I can't support it and the added nunchuck clone was the final reason as to why I won't support it. With that said I support Natal 100% of the way and I am even thinking about buying a 360 when Natal comes out

i feel that there is alot of defensive rage coming from the sony fan collective, especially here: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=7419&mp=1
pretty big flame war anyhow.

i'm not completley against poking fun at sonys new controller, as it makes for entertaining threads. I mean, this is the internet after all.

Wow, that link you posted is pretty bad.

absoloutly agree! But still it was the Sony fans laughing at us all the time so it was justice. But it can stop now.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

I don't think it is tbh, If sony make money on ripping off the wiimote then all it's going to do is lead to more half-assed rip offs in the future (it's like the hardware equivilent of shovelware).I can see why nintendo fans are upset because nintendo have had an awesome idea and have been very original and now sony are just trying to ride off the back of it and make a few quick bucks, However as other people have said it should be kept too one thread and I think people need to be more clear headed about things.

Nintendo fans shouldn't be upset, they should be happy about the competition recognizing their controller.

And I agree with Monty, the Move means more competition and competition is always good.

Great thread.

noone gets to have fun afterall we've been through?

that's no fun.. i guess it's good though because then the companies making the mistakes won't get a clue until it's too late.

I never said that I wouldn't have any fun.  I am all about goofing off as my post history will show.

Throwing around insults isn't constructive though.

To be fair, companies don't get constructive they get outrage.

I agree that it's a little too much attacking people personally, but not when it's driven at a company. You'd have to go back and count all of the offensiveness Nintendo was subjected to, and then subtract from that until you got a fair number. It just doesn't work, companies are providing a service, so we're entitled to our opinions. Even if it's outrageous.

Also, I don't think Sony fans were singled out and blamed for Nintendo bashing when any of them did so. Therefore I don't agree with blaming Nintendo fans exclusively, afterall I've seen a lot of people that own only Sony products joining in the criticism of Move. When it's justified, it's justified. It's called having a free market.

think about it this way: Sony fans have mocked Nintendo since forever and now once we start because of them imitating us a wise man (amp316) tells us how we are actually reacting is wrong on the other side forest-spirit: Nintendo fans could be happy for alot of recognition by the competition for example: rumble, analogsticks, the snes - ps contoller (i know there is more but i just can`t think of anything right now)

for the Industry like MontanaHatchet already said this is great and i totally agrre  it will make the wii2 and the psmove2 even better than it would be.

I can't blame Sony for following the leader and innovator, as it was something expected since the first second that the Wii started outselling both the 360 and PS3. It was just natural to recognize the influence and direction that Nintendo set for the industry.

The grudge I have is against some Sony fans just like koopatrooper said, one second motion controls are the death of gaming, and the next they all love it.

Excellent thread amp316

"People shouldn't hold anything against a company that wants to play follow the leader. Someone had to be the first to introduce the motion controller and it was Nintendo. Now the other two are completely changing strategies in the middle of the generation. This is their way of conceding victory to Nintendo and admitting that they were right. We, as fans, should now be celebrating this moment and not taking the time to point at and make fun of those that are not doing as well. I did not like it when the Gamecube was being made fun of for being a kiddie looking purple lunch box that had no games when it was getting trounced, and I also didn't like when Nintendo basically admitted defeat by dropping to $99."

^ My fav part.

Nice to see VGChartz isnt all about ridiculous flaming

Actually now that I think about it Nintendo should be happy that Sony has this new device. What it means is it finally will break the PS3/360 paradigm (where most games are made for PS3 and 360 and ignore the Wii). This will introduce a new PS3/Wii alliance where companies like EA make games that are designed for both the PS3 and the Wii (which isn't as hard as you'd think since both run on Open GL vs the Direct X MS uses).

This means more games for the Wii almost certainly plus more games for the PS3. It's really a win for both.

This is especially important for the Wii, I would say, since it reduces a lot of the risk inherent in making 3rd party games for the Wii.

If you have to roll the dice on being one of that 5% of 3rd party games that finds an audiance on the Wii it's a hard decision, if your risk is spread across both the Wii and the PS3 (where 3rd party games have a much higher hit rate since there is no "every game we publish will sell 10 million copies" 800 pound first party gorilla taking up 80% of software dollars) it makes a lot of games possible for both platforms that wouldn't be possible for either one alone.
