oh wait, if you can tell me the german word you probably speak german faxanadu right? Why have I only realised that now?

Ok I'll put it down in german here in case anyone speaking german steps into this thread.

It seems not to be easy to explain it in german either...

we all know what u mean IT IS NOT POSSIBLE to make it look better.

there are 2 ways

1- use an emulator with ur pc ( or in my case i got a moded wii )

2- download SMB3 from the VC it came out few days ago

there is no other way sorry x.x

because of the low resolution of the snes, and the much higher resolution of your tv set the picture will always look rather bad. you would need equipment for several hunders dollers/euros to enhance it. but that would have only a little effect. thatfor people are buying new consoles :)

Yeah that's what I thought... So there is no way to simply put resolution down on my TV. Well, that's sad. At least it is not as bad as I couldn't play the games anymore, I still had a whole lot of fun with SMB3 and with Donkey Kong Country today. But it also means I better keep the old TV

And Meow, that is interesting because I actually have attached a N64 to this television and when I played it the last times I thought that the graphics are looking awful and that I couldn't understand why I liked them back in the days... But that probably means that this also was because of my TV.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

I ran my NES on my projector - Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt - my goodness - the ducks were life size! However, the gun didn't work right - you need a real TV to get it working properly. However, played SMB, Tecmo Bowl at 10' - pixelation city, baby!

It was funny, but really nothing more than a gob of color at best ...

yes, I am German, um genau zu sein komme ich eigentlich aus Freiburg.

and thanks Meow, I also realised that you all understood after I made this post, I was just not fast enough in typing

Anyways, thanks for your help, I just wanted to be sure if there is anything I could do!

Np dude im a computer freak so i typ faster then i talk :P

we are all here to help u m8 !

The simple thing is that the SNES does not output in progressive scan. That's just going to make the graphics look off on an HDTV. I remember the SNES had store demos on LCD screens, but I'm guessing they were optimized for the SNES.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I just got over the grain myself. But its more about the gameplay than graphics for me. Plus I just love the old games so much that I can deal with my tv making them look worse. Only thing I am mad about is that DuckHunt won't work on my LCD, for whatever reason, so I have to use my roommate's tv for the NES.

Yeah of course I can also work with it, I plan on finally finishing SMB3 in the next days

I never finished it when I was a child (unlike SMW and the DK games) but I almost finished it in 2006 after I had finished NSMB (playing Mario games always makes me nostalgic it seems ) but I stopped in world 8 even without trying a level of it, I think because I went on holiday for two weeks then and when I came back, I bought Pikmin 2. Anyways, I want to beat this world 8 now finally!
