....no? You just need to kill him if you actually intend to kill him. The option to leave, save (which automatically heals you to full), and take a break is a pretty big deal.

But yeah he's kind of the ultimate optional boss in that sense. You're never forced to fight him, and even finding him isn't likely to happen unless you know where to go

But hoo boy

Well, how quickly does he heal himself if left alone? Wouldn't leaving defeat the purpose if he does it quickly?

I think you have to leave the entire area where he is, instead of just the arena. He won't start healing if you just go outside and save.

Hmmm. Seems like a good boss even if his HP is astronomically high.

Spoilers for chapter 1:

I totally agree on your chapter 1 criticism...how the hell they got to the place they did I DO NOT KNOW.

I mean did hope fly to it intentionally? He's meant to be scared of any kind of Fal'cie so why would he FLY to it? Just to tell snow, n then he doesn't even tell snow anything LOL

And Vanille was very irresponsible too.

BUT this doesn't change that I think Hope's attitude is very realistic throughout the whole game.

The characters apart from vanille feel like real people....they have been done VERY WELL imo.

I just can't seem to like Snow & Vanille no matter how hard I try... Hope at least grows a spine later on in the game. Fang is awesome, Lightning is acceptable and Sazh is the token black guy that stole the show. (Lets ride brudda!)

Actually he starts healing even if you are on the Ridorana Cataracts, but only if you're on the same screen where you fight him and don't attack him, or he doesn't see you for 5 minutes. That happened to me when I backed down to the corridors of the colosseum to catch my breath in the first time I fought him. After a while, he started regenerating 500K HP per second >_> He regenerated 2.5M HP before I got to him, mainly because of the god-forsaken traps in the arena.

So far, for me, FFXII > FXIII by some considerable margin, and for many reasons. Primarily it's the gameplay options, voice acting (by the gods Vanille annoys me, and Snow and Hope aren't much better), and the music (Sazh's funky jazz annoys me, in particular). Unfortunately, I really dislike several aspects of FXIII, which is bringing it down for me. Particularly, the interaction options (loiter by a person and strain to hear what they are saying), the tunnels of combats and cut-scenes for the majority of the game with nothing else to do (I WANT MORE SIDE-QUESTS!), and the easiness of it all are tainting an otherwise great game. Y'see, FXIII has much I like as well, including the battle system that has grown on me quite a bit (even though it is a little too easy in most situations -- I've 5-starred almost every battle), the breath-taking environments (and without slowdown or a single screen-torn, no matter how much is on display -- nice!), and the fact that Lightning is Liara from ME and I didn't realise for, I dunno, about the first 40 hours of gameplay.

It's not hard to beat that pile of sh*t. I loathed that game, barerely managed to beat it once and after I did it I found it not worth it.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Oh yes. FFXIII makes FFXII look like Last Rebellion.

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I'm going to have to finish it to be able to make a full and fair judgment.

But it currently stands like this:

1 - FFVII
2 - FFXII
3 - FFXIII
4 - FFXII
....

Man, the game was very good, actually most games arent better and I doubt most games are a pile of shit.

I know it may sound cliche and whatever, but i've always liked FFVII the most followed by IV and X. But XIII is rapidly growing up that list and Vanille is one of my favorite characters of all time
