People don't understand how big of a rip-off this game is... I tried to tell them...but no...No one believed me..this thing copies GoW down to the T and therefore got fucked hard by the reviewers...

Or some people could care less and just want to play the game.

Not about that I mean..some people (like stage) claim that GoW ripped off DMC first..it is based on DMC, true but it isn't a complete carbon copy.

Well GoW III's combat seems the best in the series so far with new weapon system and new combos..
I think people dislike GoW's combat because you can't pull off many combos until you upgrade your blades..when you upgrade them fully, the combat is full of win.
Still though, nothing will surpass GoW as the king of the genre for quite a while....

I say whatever..... Darksiders, Dantes Inferno and GOW 3 all copied DMC and no one complained. If you play all 3 everything down to the mechanics is a rip off. All of those games have very little that they brought to the table let alone stealing old religious stories from DMC as well.

But GoW perfected the genre and remains at the top of the genre's ladder. The combos aren't that deep until you fully upgrade your weapons, yes..but the puzzles, the story, the epicness of it all and the overall presentation is so much better, imo. GoW is a better complete package.

Like my other replay, I believe Bayonetta has the best combat system yet in the genre, but God of War is improving(evolving) in it's own way so it's good as well.

GOW didn't perfect the Genre....it's just a really good game. Perfection is subjective really, but besides that GOW took everything from DMC...besides lets see...adding brute strength and adding heavy cinematic kills. I almost forgot the last one, so i'll add it now....instead of using the myths from Christianity, GOW used a dead religion. GOW stole everything down to the mechanics of DMC....and as I said...no one complained.

no, they dont like goW combat gameplay because it is too easy and too "forgivable"

- u can use always the same combo to win about every arena fight

- normal difficulty is not enought hard

on production value maybe, it does not top Bayonetta in combat, but it is good.

lolwut ? Greek Mythology isn't a religion...and Christianity and Greek mythology cannot be a copy...That is just absurd.

I suppose DMC has puzzles better than GoW, Combat system with Golden Fleece Parrying, Sections such as Flying sections with Icaras wings, Wall climbing, platforming,QTEs etc.

GoW is original enough.

By perfected the genre, I mean that it pushed the genre to the very best.. 94,93 and 94 for the 3 main games on meta backs this up. What I'm saying is that being inspired by another game is fine if your goal is to improve on the formula, which GoW has done from DMC. DI is the opposite.

In overall quality, not production values.

Having an amazing combat system is disappointing imo, when everything else isn't as good and the story is absurd.

GoW III is supposed to have one of the most amazing opening sequences ever in video games and the scale of it all is amazing.

Greek Mythology was a religion...but it is a dead religon. The greeks adopted Christianity much like the Romans did. GOW is by no means original....it just has enough to stand as a name. I recently bought the GOW collection for the PS3 and until I bought them I thought GOW was a glorified cinematic. I am impressed with the all around presentation of the game. It does seem to work on what DMC lacked but in truth man that was mainly cinematics, brute strength and scale. I preordered 3 as well. I've played this, darksiders and Dantes Inferno. Dantes Inferno did rip off GOW but just changed the religion...but in that respect they all stole from DMC and no one said a word.

dood, if Platinum Games had 5 years to make their game with 44 million USD thrown in their face, I'll bet you money that the product would be at least as good as GoW3, and likely better, from what I've played and seen. JP dev can only dream of having that much time and money in their face. Nobody is arguing that GoW3 isn't a good game, but I personally value game play above everything else, the rest can be piled with time and money, aka production value. I can easily enjoy both games and say what I like better in each one, and I have no question that GoW3 will have a better presentation, that's a "no shit," but the game play can't be matched to Bayonetta, and it won't be even close most likely.

man you would hate rome total warrior
