It's not Microsofts fault Sony did a exclusive FFXIII PS3 bundle in Japan

FFXIII only releases on the PS3 in Japan, so it's sort of redundant (right word to use?) to say "exclusive".

Stop making excuses. It's obvious that launch party had PS3 fanboys majorly in there so Sony exclusivity is no excuse. Sony could've had a western PS3 bundle before Microsoft got their hands on that deal and you know with their clout they could've done it.

Errr, calm down there cowboy. I'm not making any excuses for anything, only pointing out the weird statement you made (Almost like saying an exclusive Halo 3 bundle for example).

Pull out the adrenaline needle, get your head out of the console war, and calm down.

Halo 3 is an actual exclusive. The only reason FFXIII is exclusive in Japan is because SE saw that the Japanese have a bias to the 360.

Or because the 360 has a tiny user base in Japan. And your statement is still awkward. Of course the FFXIII bundle is PS3 exclusive in Japan, it's an PS3 exclusive already.

You're saying small user base and I already stated why the 360 has a small user base and why the 360 FFXIII wouldn't work in Japan. It's awkward because its true.

The small user base is an objective and undeniable fact. The Japanese having a bias against American products (I'm assuming that's what you meant by "bias to the 360", so correct me if I'm jumping the gun here), is a completely wild and baseless speculation, and subjective opinion.

Your statement that an exclusive game has an exclusive bundle IS awkward, and has nothing to do with our side conversation of why the 360 failed in Japan.

I really don't see what you're defending. Just admit that it's redundant to say "Exclusive game A, has an exclusive bundle", just as saying "Halo has an exclusive 360 bundle!". You'll probabgly say "Lol, why say "Exclusive" 360 bundle, and not just 360 bundle? Of course it's exclusive you silly little man" if I made that Halo statement.

So, way to start a quote pyramyd and argument over a small observation I made.

As i've had to repeat you, I already know the 360 has a small userbase. I just stated why it has a small userbase and yes the reasoning is awkward. First of all the 360 isn't failed in Japan because Microsoft hasn't pulled out. They hit a milestone and that should be noted no matter what your cause. In closing to this American products are not trusted more in Japan than Europe. Just wait until GT5 releases. The reason Microsoft has done so well this gen is because Microsoft understands what westerners like. Westerners in Europe don't want to admit that though.

There's no excuse for any group of people to do that. Nothing wrong with FFXIII being on the 360, I guess those people weren't around when FF jumped ship from Nintendo to Sony then :P

Oh and btw, there's no Final Fantasy fans (I read it a couple of pages ago)? Yeah, keep telling that to yourself, whomever you are.

FF has always been on a Japanese made system whether it be Nintendo or Sony so really it never mattered for them. The only people who responded negatively were Nintendo and business people in the west we call a screw job a screw job.

That still doesn't give them the right to act like this. It was a matter of time before Final Fantasy jumped ship to another console. Who's to say that in the future Final Fantasy games won't go back to being Nintendo only?

I don't get people caring more about the consoles which games are on, instead of the actual games >_>

Now that an American company is thriving in the gaming industry, Japanese people care. If Nintendo got FF exclusively again the fans in Japan wouldn't care. People in the west would be the only ones complaining.

And that's only the propagation of a vicious cycle. People should accept the games that they enjoy, independently of the console where they are.

>.< Ignore the 360 sales and Japan bias thing. That wasn't even part of my original post. You said "Stop making excuses" when I wasn't making any such thing. The only point I was making was that you made a silly statement, and now you're just starting up an entirely different topic.

And after spending so much money trying to get into Japan than what they ultimately got out of it, and the decrease in confidence (inability to trust a 360 exclusive as staying exclusive and RROD), I will say that they did fail. BUT THOSE THINGS ARE TOTALLY IRRELEAVANT! YOU BROUGHT THEM UP OUT OF NOWHERE. I DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW THE 360 SOLD IN JAPAN!!!!!!!

Is your ego and pride that big that you can't say "Huh, yeah, I guess that was a bit weird thing I said there"? Did you have to start an entire quote pyramyd over "FFXIII only releases on the PS3 in Japan, so it's sort of redundant (right word to use?) to say "exclusive"" and bring in "Japanese bias"? Where the hell did you extract that from my original statement? Why are we talking about sales? Why can't you adress my original point if you bothered to reply to me.

Wow. Just wow. I'm just going to leave this thread before I say something that will get me reported at least 50 times.

/facepalms half the posters in this thread

Definitely on the shallow side of the gene pool tonight, I am.

Seconded, but I think the issue here is that there are 2 kinds of fans complaining. There are Sony fans who don't like losing exclusives which I've never understood , I used to hate the idea of exclusives when I only had PS1 and wanted to play Saturn and N64 games, so go multi-plats! Well, I guess I understand, I just don't agree with it.

Then there are the FF fans who are making assumptions based on rumors. They are assuming that the PS3 lost quality because of the existence of the 360 version, and they think "a whole game's worth of content" was cut also because of the 360 version. There has been no direct confirmation of either of these, and even then I'd probably only believe it if Wada says it (since he seems very Pro-360). If either or both of these are true, I can understand some disappointment/anger towards the 360 version.

But as long as the game is good, well, that's all that should matter right? I wouldn't be surprised if they release some/all of that content as DLC (even though they said they have no plans to).

Wow, this joke of a thread is still going on? I thought it was pretty much confirmed those people and the people who think like them are jokes.

Lol @ 22 pages of this thread.

Just thought I'd mention that the booing is more likely to happen in the UK as:

- The first FF game was on Playstation (FFVII) and has always been seen as a PS brand in the UK.
- A lot of people probably bought a PS3 earlier for the promise of FFXIII being PS exclusive. If they knew that they could have bought a cheaper 360 for it they may well have done.
- The media suggesting that content was cut from the PS version for system parity likely angered some
- The people booing weren't in line to win anything!

Not justifying it, just giving reason and explaination as to why it may have happened.
