Did you forget about the Snes controller? It came before these 2....
OT: Well, nothing but the thruth. 2006 2010... is all the same. IT applies perfectly =)

It's the Dual-Analog he's pointing out. Sony created that, though it was a variation of the original rumble controller (N64 Controller) which was Immersion's technology.
|
Like you said, Nintendo put the analog.... Sony went on to put one after... and just add another one. I don't now how is that creating.

Depends on how you look at it. Nintendo brought a rumble controller to the industry. Sony brought dual-analog controls to the industry. One brought the concept, the other created a controller using the concept, but expanded on it. In fact, we still have controllers that use dual-analog (Wii controller, the original Xbox controller, 360 controller).
But one wouldn't argue with the fact that yes, nobody has innovated more than Nintendo and they haven't really copied many ideas. They borrowed the idea of dual analog just like Sony borrowed the idea of a rumble controller. Everyone has copied, borrowed, or used previous tactics at some point though. If it continues to help gaming and the industry, what's the big deal? In the end, how have any of us been hurt by an idea being copied?
I'm one of the biggest advocates for innovation. But someone copying something else, and making it better even, I see nothing wrong with.

Aslong as it is an improvement of the original product then copying is fine as it benefits games and gamers and it should really be encouraged. It´s when it is copying for the sake of copying or sales and offers no improvement that we should voice out selves not now about theese controllers.
