Forums - Sony - Price is the biggest barrier fo the Move

Grimes says: "Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye."

hehe: Well that's funny:)

Around the Network

Sony never learns or they have a short memory of the 600$ PS3. Wii and Xbox will for sure have the price advantage and this will be a total epic fail for Sony.

This is incredible. Sony said they will be coming in below $100 for the PSEYE, 1 Move Wand, and a Game. What more do people want? Scott Rhode siad, that if they were not totally confident with that number they would not have announced it. This leads me to believe they can easly hit that mark, so I would not be blown away if they launched at $79.99 - $89.99.

They will also have multiple levels of entry. The RSX is due for a die shrink, so I would not be surprised to see this thing bundled with PS3 for $299.99 at launch this fall. That is only $100 more than the Wii for an upgrade to HD, higher precision controls, HDD, Blu-ray, DVD, Movies on demand, easy to use online muliplayer, and much more.

So whats left missing? SOFTAWARE!

If anyone thinks that what Sony showed at this event was ment to blow us away they are off there rocker. This was mearly an announcement event ment to solidify a bradn to build awarness around. They showed that they have software for the family, for casuals, for parties, and for the core gamer. These were just mere glimpses to show each demographic that they are included in this new product. Over the course of the next 6 months they have to have games to show to ratchet up the exitment. Between now and E3 we will see a couple of more announcemnts that will show more promise. Then come E3 they will open it up to the AAA titles that they are building from the ground up with motion in mind.

Its all simple marketing practice. You don't show your most exiting aspect of something off when its months out. Show it a matter of weeks before launch and never let the momentum and exitment die.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

It’s probably too cheap…

    – Ken Kutaragi, Regarding the $499 to 599 price point
    – Kaz Hirai, regarding Microsoft “copying” their strategies
“The idea of a handheld rivalry with Nintendo is an irrelevance. Those formats don't appear in our planning. It's not a fair comparison; not fair on them, I should stress. That sounds arrogant, maybe, but it's the truth. With the DS , it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen. But I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that."
- Phil Harrison, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, on comparing PSP to DS in an interview with MCV
"The first five million are going to buy it (PS3), whatever it is, even [if] it didn't have games."
- David Reeves, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO
"I have no concerns about the competition."
- Phil Harrison, president of Sony Worldwide Studios speaking at the Game Developer Conference

"I don’t think we’re arrogant."
– Phil Harrison, regarding consumer perception of Sony

"We're certainly not interested in Gimmicks."
- Kaz Hirai0 E32k6, right before showing off Eye of Judgement.

"Nintendo knows its target audience, because it has really narrowed that down; and it’s pretty much defined by a boy or girl’s ability to admire Pokemon."
- Phil Harrison, president of Sony Computer Entertainment's Worldwide Studios

"But I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick."
- Sony executive Phil Harrison cuts to the chase with his incisive analysis of the Nintendo DS in gaming paper MCV.
Sorry, but I just had to show that sometimes people at Sony "say" things that they either know are bullshit, or they say things that they believe, but are still bullshit.

Achievement is its own reward, pride only obscures.

HATING OPHELIA- Coming soon from Markosia Comics!

A dualshock 3 costs about 60 euros here in PAL regions
if the move and the camera both come for 100 euros it's extremely cheap
the camera alone, witch has some alpha drivers for PC is worth a lot.
seriously guys, you are exaggerating, and if they bundle a game its instant win!
