Forums - Sales - The Offical NPD February 2010 Thread

Ironically despite 360 performing the best, I think it is MS that in a way needs to worry the most. PS3 and Wii both had shortages while still sticking close to 360 WITHOUT shortages.

Guys remember

PS3 AND WII ARE SEVERELY SUPPLY CONSTRAINED

Wow 360 beat Wii of all things? Shortages are a bitch.

As I've said before, NINTENDO themselves are the biggest threat to Nintendo's dominance. I guess they were just blindsided by the 3.8 million wave they sold in December, and are still recovering from that.

Luckilly the shortages seem to be dealt with judging by this week's US numbers.

I don't know about if they got it under controll but I know there was a massive shipment last week. My store got 15. I don't know when our next shipment is though.

Yeah I noticed amazon's store has them in stock now too, which is pretty big.

With Heavy rain's failure, all we need now is " Move" to fail to.

?

Thats great for Heavy rain, those are only 1 week sales in the u.s so VG actually undertracked it.

One little note.

Heavy Rain = Feb 23rd

that's a very nice couple days.

I expect Battlefield to sell close to a million on the 360 alone next month.

Ok we get there are PS3 shortages, we have heard that for months now.

But how the hell does that make 360 get a bump? Software wise all that was out was Bioshock 2 really?

It makes you think a bit about how the numbers can be so wrong. The 360 just posted its best ever febuary, beating the Wii by 25k. It didn't even do anything but the buzz about it on here reminds me of a morgue or something! It was even up year over year by a massive 33k!

It also makes you think about march's npd. If we accept that the PS3 has the shortages people are mentioning and have mentioned then i don't see how it can possibly be anywhere close to the 360 numbers right now. If 360 just got a bump from nothing in february then i can imagine it being a bump with BC2 and FFXIII, especially with the bundles.

So fair play to MS. Their machine that had its last price cut nearly 2 years ago just posted one of it's best months.
Which i think is further proof that if/when the 360 does actually drop to that official £99 mark with Natal then the numbers will be gigantic.

Also PS3 did well. It was up nearly 100k year over year, that is awesome.

what's the best alternative to a wii/ps3?
