I'd say that is true for some but mostly scare-mongering.I think people in England don't like the fact that English traditions and way of life are being supressed for example flying the St.George cross (which americans seem to think is the red cross on motivational posters ) can't be flown because it'll upset johnny foreigner yet we see Italian, Scottish Irish etc flags and shirts all over the place.

These are rules from local government. this will obviously breed resentment but things are changing. St. Georges day is taken more seriously and today I seen the flag flown in the city centre.

Brits are very open to other ways of life but don't want ours subdued.

Hey - it was the same in Germany - we still had that whole "OMG NAZI!"-thing going on, but along came the World Cup 2006 and with it a shitload of German flags and now it seems to be okay to have/show/wave a German flag.

Hmm, really? I certainly don't think of Nazi's when I see the German flag. Especially because das dritte Reich had a different flag lol. That said, I don't know which flag is from Belgium and which one is from Germany. Haha, always mess those two up >_>
