Yea I noticed that too but can't say I'm surprised.  Would be surprised how many people just can't count haha.

Did anyone ever stop to consider that they're counting from when the device was first developed and/or announced? Could be a possibility.

Pretty fair comparison. Obviously you would expect better tech for something that has had much longer to be able to work out the kinks and more advanced things. However, I think a lot of people just don't give the Wiimote with WM+ enough credit simply because the devs don't give it enough credit. I mean the original wiimote was able to do wonderful tracking and the WM+ pretty much perfected it with easier ability to develop. Yet it's obvious we still haven't gotten the full use out of WM+ and it can do a lot more than we've seen. So comparing it to that doesn't seem to do it justice.

Of course we'll see how well Zelda plays with it and hopefully Nintendo was able to get everything out of it. But what it does seem that Move is able to do a lot of what Wiimote plus WM+ can do, but doesn't seem that it goes above and beyond what it can do. Which is not necessarily a bad thing because obviously the Wiimote is doing things right. But little agitated by the comment that they want to see the thing used for more than the Wiimote is used for despite the Wiimote being incorporated in almost every way possible.

Well said, and couldn't agree more.

I haven't seen a single thing that Sony's product can do, that can't be done with WM+. And with all the talk of lag, I'm even more disappointed. They've had time to work on their copy-cat, and this is all they can do?

Oh, and of course the biggest hurdle for them, aside from pricing, is the fact that their product is not built around these controllers. The Eye-toy might have been a cool add on for the PS2, but it didn't move systems. This too will follow the same path.

Agree with you both guys.

Even if the Move is more precise, how much more precise it can be ? i mean i play Wii sports resort , and i cant really see much room for it gettin WAYYYY better , the mais point here is the casual will not see the difference , cant sony just see that ? and for 99$ for one wand and a camera plus the 299 for the PS3 itself it all gets too expansive.

GO PATS! 2012 THE YEAR OF NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS'S 4TH SUPER BOWL!

A patriot to the end. GO PATS!

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

Good read and nice comparison. It makes Sony sympathetic that they even congrat Big N for their success.

I still can't get over Move Party is that really going to be the final name?

How is the Wii nearly 5 years on the market when it released at the end of 2006? It's only been a bit over 3 years. Craig Harris is awkward. O_o

Lag issues will NEED to be ironed out, if you have lag on the pointer that makes it pretty much pointless for something like SOCOM. The controls are supposed to get better, not worse.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

The Lag, the annoying light (you want THIS is dark rooms?), and the high price will surely make Move Sonys next flop.

November 2006 to March 2010 is three years and four months. Can't these people count?

I got into a heated discussion over that a few days ago. Cammie said Wii was into its 5th year, and when I told everyone that I didn't understand why would Cammie say such thing, they told me to learn to count lol. It's 3 and 4 months, like you say, but people count 2006 and 2010 as whole years :/

Well the difference there is that works because it's not defining a certain date but saying it has spanned 5 different yeas.  Which is true as it launched November 2006 and we are currently in 2010.  5 different years it has been out.  As long as they don't try to detail the actual lenght, that is technically true.  But saying something is 4 and a half years old when the product has actuallly been on the market for 3 years and four months is completely wrong.

Only way I could see that as right, is if they mean when it was first shown back in September 2005.  Technically it has been 4 years and 6 months since that time, and I'm guessing that is what Mr. Harris meant.  Should probably put context for that, or otherwise it doesn't make sense as most people take release month not prototype first shown to the media.

Regardless of when the wii was released or when the first time the wii-mote was shown off to the public....the idea and tech behind it is wayy older than that.  The R&D and manufacturing time it takes to have a product like that ready to show off in 05 and lets say to release in 06 must have started a cpl years before that.  So possibly the wii-mote is working off of 03/04 tech..or older, who knows.  It certainly isn't unreasonable to consider the wii tech at least 5 years old at this point.

To think that it still holds up as well as it does is pretty amazing in itself.  Tech changes so rapidly in just a few short years....its no surprise that "move" may have some improvements in design and tech...as well as it should, especially for 100 beans for a "starter" kit.  Too rich for my blood, despite what minor enhancements it brings.

300 for a ps3, ? for an eye toy and 100 bucks for a move and a game "starter" kit (wth can the advanced kit cost?!?)  just so a Wii gamer can play HD?  no thanks, think ill stick with my 250 wii that came with motion capibility built in from the start...or a new person to gaming can pick one up now for 200.   /shrug

on a side note...a slightly more ergonomically comfortable wii-mote design with upgraded button layout would be a welcome thing imo...and a wireless nunchuk obv has been talked about since launch or before.  dunno how "move"'s battery life is on either the wand or sub...that will be interesting, but kudos to them on refining the design and making it wireless at any rate.

I wonder what Nintendo's immediate response to this will be. I doubt they knew about this until today. Whenever the next interview takes place, it will be interesting to see what Reggie, Cammie or Iwata think about this, after all, it's a Wii but with HD graphics, minus the Nintendo software of course.

This can only confirm that next gen, Nintendo will have to innovate a lot, simply adding HD resolution won't be enough. And that's good news if you ask me.

Isn't that the problem?  No Nintendo games
