Myself im immensely positively surprise by FFXIII on PS3 (didnt tried the 360 version). I thought there was going to be a lot of changes, but actually, story, presentation and scale are exactly like it used to be. The pacing is amazing up until now (15 hours in already), its been a long time I wasnt able to play 10 hours in a row on a jRPG. The last one was tales of vesperia. My expectation werent that high, but it surpasses them a lot. I think Final Fantasy team are far from being lazy, you can see theres a lot of work behind this title. Now I understand why they thought a FFVII remake would take them 10 years. Since they speed up the combat, the scale of areas and design needed to be bigger. With the type of graphics it is, I can easily imagine how much work would be behind a FFVII remake.
Between, doesnt seem to me like the game was dumbed down, first part of a Final Fantasy game has always been linear and more focus on story. Even if it was, the story and pacing are well adapted so its not a problem. Its a big relief! Going back to play, hope it stays as good until the end!
What do you think?
P.S.: Try the game before posting negative comments, also no comparaison to the 360 version please. But feel free to post your impression based on the 360 version.
