lol so much negativity! :P come on people relax and wait and see what games it uses and how good they are...I for one don't care if it sells one or a million as long as it can impress me with a game I would like
and Wii fans chillout, Sony was working on motion controllers way before you guys, and this doesn't mean you guys will get screwd over or anything, for one I think you will see more games for the hardcore on the Wii as well...so it's a Win Win ;)

I don't know have you played Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, GOWIII Demo, or the Call Of Duty Games?? I don't think there is anything remotely close to that on the Wii. There are good games that I could enjoy but there is not every type of experience I want on the wii. The Wii can't make those types of games because their hardware is limiting. And that's the point. If I was going to buy a wii and be happy with it and say there are enough great games for me to play I might as well stick with just playing on the PS2 or my PS1 from back in the day or the first Nintendo. But what the PS3 offers, experiences that the Wii cannot offer or has not offered. |
Yes, I've played some of those games. I even have Call of Duty WaW and MW on Wii. Both excellent games, playing much like their HD brothers.
Yes.

Could you imagine playing UC2 with the Arc? How about GoW? No one would want to play a game like those with an attachment like the Arc. Motion sensors do well with casuals. Casuals love gimmicks. However, there's many hardcore gamers that would rather have a controller in their hands rather than a gimmick that they have to get used to. It's a completely different demographic when you're aiming with new technology. Don't expect UC3 to use the Arc in other words. Or any of these hardcore games you mentioned. Even if they have the function, well over 90% of the consumers will just stick with the controller they already have anyway. |
Because 'casuals' are idiots, yeh?
Come on. It is not a gimmick. Look at how the Wiimote revolutionised Pro Evo Soccer, for example. Gimmicks are for lazy developers. People with intelligence see potential for a new style of game, renewing the genre. Call of Duty also plays slightly better (for me anyway) than the HD versions (though some of the features are omitted)

Casuals are pretty ignorant about the quality of games. That the game Just Dance has sold millions should be proof enough of that.
This is a gimmick. Gimmicks are used to bring in a new audience to a previously untouched aspect of an original product to get a quick, cheap hit of revenue. All it does is put a slightly new spin on a previous model, which will quickly become an old flavor. In other words, a fad. At least I hope it is, because it might as well be the end of gaming if motion controls stick around.
I'd really like to see a person get a 6 hour session of Call of Duty with a Wii Remote in. His arm would probably feel like it weighs 50 pounds.
