In what terms? Story?

OO yea should ahve put that in the OP.....yes in story and the character development of kratos.

Also, you need to be more specfific. What part of the story, characters, and character development did you not like?

Its the change in directors , I never knew that for each iteration there was a different director directing and thats probably why GOW2 was far less enjoyable for me compared to GOW1.....

Does anyone feel the same way I do if they felt there was a decline between in the series? (between GOW1 and GOW 2)

EDIT:This is strictly referring to story and character development.

200% agree but the word "hate" is too strong

in GoW1 : there is a reason WHY you do what you do

in GoW2 : free kill/rage, you play a crazy guy with no brain

in Gow3: the same (guess)

Neverthless : even with a less interesting story/character developpement
GoW games are amazingly good and d onot deserve your "hate"

Theres a difference between hating the direction a game takes and hating a game in its entirety......I never said I hated GOW2 , just the direction it took and how it handled the story.

true true true, I missread you

Time to Work !

I'm sorry dude but GOW II had a better story than the original imo.. and it was a much better experience..

The Story: The way they handled the story was not good. From the time you are told of the sisters of fate to the point where you kill the sisters of fate , there is no story.....and that is about 70-80% of the game.

The character development: Consequences of how the story was handled.....but if I go into too much detail ill quite literally spoil the game soo ill send you a pm.

Remember this thread is not about  "hey I dont like GOW story lets dance together" its about if you feel that there was a decline do you think that the change in directors was the reason , or one of the reasons you feel this way......This is not pointing at you akvod, Im just putting it out there.

As a barebone game I can agree with that , GOW2 simply did more things in game than GOW 1 (I still believe the hydra battle in GOW1 is by far the best in the series though)......but at the end of the day and how much did GOW2 really add to the overall story of the trilogy? If I were to give a summary of GOW as it stands right now it would be 80%GOW1 and 20%GOW2.

I thought it was interesting to see all the stories of former epic heroes, and the one boss from Kratos's past. Sure it might not have led to the development of Kratos himself, but the Odyssey was mostly episodic. Odysseus is faced with a certain boss, and the story mostly centers around that boss. There were plenty of internal developments and plot elements that had to do with Kratos himself (like the certain mysterious character that appears midway)

GOW could have ended with just God of war though, I agree with that.. the whole little "OH THE GODS TOLD ME TO KILL ARES, AND NOW THEY HATE ME FOR KILLING ARES" is kind of stupid, but the storyline is very well done, and fits well as a trilogy.

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

I agree, from story perspective, there was a bigger motivation in story too move forward. In gow 2 you just go on a killing frenzy, because they didn't give him amnesia or piss him off or something. Wait the minute, could they just blank kratos mind, and make him a mindless slave ? They told him that he's crime was too great, to have him forget it so if they did it they could avoid whole god ownage. I like Gow storyline, but it has so many plot-holes.
