Forums - Nintendo - THE most anti-cliactic ending in recent video game history?

I know this is kind of... late... in coming, but I finally had some play time on my hands and decided to dust off The Conduit so I could wrap up the campaign mode.

I was stricken with a:

"What the... the credits are rolling?"

I didn't even realize I had beaten the game, or was even at the "Final boss battle" until it was all over.

I can see they were trying to set up a sequal, but it didn't go at all with the "I was there..." intro style to the game they used

Overall, one of the worst endings in recent gaming history.

The conduit is disappointing in many ways, but I even forgot that ending.

most of the pokemon games, i love them to death but for an RPG a pokemon game's story kinda sucks, especially the anticlamatic endings

another example is also an RPG, ToS:DotNW. this game had a great story in my opinion but the ending was also kind of a letdown, especially compared to the great main story.

New Super Mario Bros Wii. I got all the way to that castle on the right side of the map, and all that happened was Peach flew away on some damn ship...

For those who don't remember the Conduit ending (I think this game is sufficiently old to not have to worry about it being a spoiler, though it doesn't spoil much):

You are in a room with a bunch of conduits and you kill a bunch of all the alient enemies throughout the game.

Then adams shuts down the conduits and locks you in.You then have to "hack" these stasis fields that hold some big guys in 2:00 (though they give you some of the most powerful weapons right off the bat so beating them is WAY too easy) and jump through the conduit.

It shows the tube cinematic AND....credits...

Yea, it is a pretty bleh ending. But, if you stared playing games long ago it really is not anything knew. Use to you were lucky to know any story of a game and you almost never got a ending.
