Forums - Sony - My Opinion On Heavy Rain Graphics

So , i played the Heavy Rain Demo, and all i have to say is WOW. Nice graphics. I played the Yakuzka demo shortly after and maybe Heavy Rain set the new expectation in graphics for me, or Yakuzka has really bad graphics. I'm actually a little disappointed in Yakuzuka b/c they have english subtitles and i just expected another Shenmue but i guess I'm stupid for not playing yakuzka 1 or 2 on ps2.

Yea I know what yo mean, I was way more impressed with heavy rain than I thought I would be. I have a feeling I'm going to end up buying it real soon.

Yakuza was preaty lame for me but Heavy rain demo has badass fighting!

Yakuza 3 is actually very old. Its been in Japan for a while. Thats why it looks not good at all.

I am pretty disappointed with Heavy Rain's graphics so far.

They are certainly very good, but nowhere near what they were hyped to be. And nowhere near the best on either HD console.

^ i wouldnt say no where near, but yeah , they are pretty damn good

I think a lot of the hype for HR graphics was missplaced. In videos, etc. the game looked good but never that good across the board. It has very good graphics, and probably the most detailed faces and bodies (which is where the effort actually went I think) but the animation doesn't always make best use of them.

At times, though, when the amazing character models, context and setting come together HR does for those moments look astonishing, as you connect with the characters obvious emotions and sometimes terrible situations.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

in defence of Yakuza 3, the game is about a year old, as for Heavy Rain, Graphics on that are a little over rated me thinks, Uncharted 2 still sets the mark.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Heavy Rain's graphics are all over the place. At times it looks very average, then it can look like a well polished third party game, at times it looks like Unchrted 2, and then at some moments it shocks the brain with near real graphics. What it does well though is keeping eveything well polished. Even when stuff starts looking really undetailed, it always keeps its vibe of a real life world. They never have any jarring moments were envionments clash, or draw distance making things look fake.

One spot that sticks out to me is the religious dudes house. That is a place that looks amazing.
