I want to hear from you people what is the true meaning of your favourite Pokémon. I mean, why is it yours? Is it for the design, the strenght on "tier lists" (even though this doesn't exist in Pokémon...), the usefulness of the species, because Ash has it (then you're a loser...) or because it's the first you saw? Many people state that their favourite Pokémon is __________ (10 characters, the max a Pokémon can have), but we don't know for what reason. Let's make this ultimate: what's your favourite Pokémon (it's hard to pick overall, so pick gen by gen) and why?

My favourite pokemon is Blastoise/Squirtle because I like turtles. This started with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who were a big part of my childhood. A secondary reason, is the fact that I love the colour blue. A final reason was that is was my first starter, way back when I first started Pokemon Red version. If they chose to include a different water starter than Squirtle, I'm pretty sure that that starter would have become my favourite.

My favorite is Charizard because fire type was always my favorite and dragons are always cool. Mainly, which one appeals to me the most.....

It's a combination of design and usefulness. Pokemon like Mismagius look cool and play well, whereas some that definitely look awesome (Lickitung) are not all that great, and some of the greats, even some of the ubers (Palkia comes to mind) are boring as hell in terms of concept, aside from their awesomeness.

My favorite pokemon is Pikachu, not because of the show though. When my friend first brought over Pokemon Blue I had no clue about the game or the show, and he had me try it. I instantly fell in love with the game.

Now why he is my favorite? I think it's because I've always been into electricity. The lightning from thunder storms, Zeus from ancient Greek mythology, you name it. So it may have been because Pikachu was the first electric pokemon I ran into, but it was like love at first site.

Of course later seeing the Anime, that only helped strengthen the bond I felt for Pikachu.

Speaking of Pokemon I can't wait to pick up my Heart Gold pre-order and relive my younger years.

Ho-oh, Lugia, and Rayquaza because they have the majestic design and have that serious strong look to them. Plus bird-dragon type Pokemon seem to have the best design imo.... besides Dragonite.....

If I would have to choose one of the three, I would choose Rayquaza just because he is green.

Mewtwo because it was the strongest of all

And he looked and acted cool, too bad they had to make arceus.

Charizard because i love fire and charizards overall design and attitude.

Charizard easily cause he has the best design, best movepool, best final evolution for a starter and in the show he beats an Articuno!!!!!!!!
