Forums - Gaming - I never thought I would ever hate a Dragon Quest title... >_>;

Dragon Quest 7 is just terrible. TERRIBLE. :/

Boring characters, poor quality side-storish storylines, and a terrible plot.

It's like they were competing with Chrono Cross for the title of worst game ever created in human history.

The gameplay is among the slowest I've ever experienced as well. Ugh...

Overall, disappointing and I'm almost 50 hours in. :(

That bad, eh?

Hrmmmmm

The first Dragon Quest I played was DQ 8 and I didn´t like it, even though I usually enjoy JRPGs...it took forever to level up and battles were kinda slow.

*gasp*

Glad I'm not in your shoes right now, trying to figure out what I could have done better with these lost hours.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

First off, you haven't finished it.

Second of all, don't start this junk just like your 'worst game ever made' Chrono Cross thread. We really don't need to know everything that goes on in your head.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

DQ5 began my love for this series

DQ7 is actually my favourite Dragon Quest game (V comes close though). I agree with you about the characters not being as great as some of the others in the series, but I loved the gameplay and I didn't find anything wrong with the mini-narratives. The pace of the game is really slow, which will probably scare away most people who give it a try, but I'd say that it's one of the best classic-style JRPG's that have been released post-SNES, if not the best.

That's really too bad. I haven't played that many Dragon Quest-games, only played DQ8 to completion. I started DQ4, but it didn't interest me all that much, I'll probably try and get further in it and maybe finish it if I like it at some point. If I like DQ4, I'm planning on trying 5 and 6 too.

DQ7 is the only one officially released in North America I haven't played through. I have had it since it came out, but I haven't played more than a couple of hours into it. Though a friend of mine has played through the whole thing and loved it.

I haven't really committed any time to playing it because it is over 100 hours in length. I figure it is something for the future.
