When the January NPD results were released, people seemed to be surprised to see the 360 beating the PS3 by about 50/60K (don´t exactly remember).

Now.. the next NPD, for February, comes out very soon...do you think the 360 will beat the PS3 again?

Hey MM476...are those stories about PS3 shortages real (at least based on what you´ve seen) and would they heavily play a factor into the 360 outselling the PS3?....or is it simply a case that the 'Slim factor' wore off in the U.S. and it´s back to more people just wanting a 360?

yeah it most likely will....however, i think that the ps3 will prob beat 360 in march due to a lot of good games coming out (that's unless they are still having serious supply issues)

Kantor, I´ve heard about the apparent PS3 shortages, but I´m out of the loop...is it true the console is in short supply?...because every week the PS3 hovers around 85/90K in NA, and those aren´t exactly small numbers.

Certainly not in the UK. But from what I've heard, it's in very short supply in the USA.

kantor, I live in the U.S. but it´s been more than 2 months since the last time I went to a game store, so I don´t know...and even if I had gone, it´d just be anecdotal evidence of one thing or the other.....but anyway, you live in the UK..got any idea how the PS3 has been selling this year where you live?

They are very real. Only online retailer carrying them is Amazon and they are going in and out of stock. Gamestop has no Ps3's in the Chicagoland or New Orleans area as does Target. Targets last shipment was 3 weeks ago. Which every store only got 3 and were sold out in 2 days.
