I think a lot of people forget that Arc is to be used WITH PSeye and the motion tracking abilities of the eye, while not being as good as natal can do a lot of the same things.

So in short Arc = eyetoy + Wii motion+
Natal = Eyetoy 2.0

Im seeing a lot more possibility with arc for gameplay mechanics

Both look terrible so whatever. Motion controls are so lame.

While I disagree that Arc is the same as the Wiimote - it does use camera too; that is certainly the impression it gives. And the big glowing ball on top? - Lame.

It's not that the tech doesn't have potential but Sony has a big image problem because on one hand the Wiimote has been out for years and this looks like another wiimote, on the other, because it's launching against Natal which does appear to be something fresh, new and exciting.

And it's not just convincing the public it's exciting and worth buying into, they have to convince developers and publishers too.

Yeah NATAL is an evolution of the Eye Toy and Xbox Live Vision Camera (I haven't tried Eye Toy but from my impressions of the latter, I hate the Xbox Live Vision Camera. lol It's really hard to get the setup just right. Lighting and everything. It's pretty useless outside of it's 640x480 shitty webcam functionality) but people see that as the fresher approch to the Arc because it's not like a whole lot was done with the Eye Toy And XBL Vision Camera anyway. How many games do they have for each? Very few. Whereas the whole Wiimote thing has been done with hundreds of Wii games using the tech. The Wiimote practically defines the Wii experience (aside from those games that are better played on the Classic Controller). I'm more interested in seeing what NATAL can do precisely because it's a fairly new experience (compared to a motion controller). There wasn't much going on with the Eye Toy and XBL Vision Camera. Hopefully NATAL will be of much higher quality and be used for a lot more than just a few games and some gimmicks.

i own all consoles but i'm not getting the arc or natal. i wish they'd both scrap these projects and realize that if i want to flail my arms around like an idiot i'd play my wii, i play my ps3 and 360 for actual games. these are just gimmick devices like the nes power glove imo
