Well had Sony kept Crash Bandicoot and slapped him on and in almost Sony has done for past 16 years, then Mario would have some real competition.

Of course Sony has Kratos now.....and well if Mario jumped on his head, it would be the last thing Mario ever did.

But Kratos doesn't have charisma...

Kratos doesn't need charisma.

He's Kratos.

You wanna tell him he's not important???

regardless Mario is king this generation and as a whole hes most definitively king. Though Pokemon is on the creep creep lol. Though i don't think they will ever surpass Mario nor do they deserve to. they don't innovate.

How has Mario innovated this gen?

Center of gravity based 3D platforming.  More innovative than any other platformer this gen.

I don't see how "Gravity" is an innovation, as it is featured in every 3D Platformer i know of.

What a Mario hater.

Well, "Mario bores me" is a pretty lame comment. Don't play his games. You just can't deny he's everywhere, owning every games, revolutionnizing genres, gets enormous sales. He's so popular because he's innovative. Mario is really really innovative. From the original Super Mario Bros, to Super Mario 64 in 3D and Super Mario Galaxy, Mario isn't just an iconic character. He's the representation and the face of video gaming. Why does he is still at the top nowadays? His games are fun and innovative. They are still appealing.

No.  I just don't think he is the be all and end all of gaming, unlike the majority of Nintendo fans.

Well, somebody claiming Mario isn't the King fails horribly. Who could be the King? Kratos? With only 1 game this gen that will sell 4 million max? nope.

Carl, you hate Nintendo and you know it. We know it too.

You aren't tricking people by claiming your sister's Wii your own.

I don't hate Nintendo. I hate how Nintendo have handled the Wii, and the 1st party games.

Seriously though, that Wii... At least was mine. Probably way too much time has gone by to say it still is. But the date Zelda releases, it is all mine for at least a week. So ner ner.

I already said the king is between 2 things.

"Wii..." or "Shigeru Miyamoto".

Not Mario... or Kratos.

I know, Carl. You don't want to play the Wii because of the way it is advertised. It's so not cool to play the Wii and admitting to play the Wii in a public area would be social suicide.

Who says i don't want to play the Wii? I do play it, and i feel groovy while playing it.

Just because i don't necessarily like what Ninty have done with the Wii doesn't mean i don't like the console itself.

What has Nintendo done with the Wii exactly? And what's wrong with the first party games?

After just three years they have already surpassed the Gamecube lineup in quality with most of the sequels being better than their predecessors. (I should know, because I play a hell of a lot Nintendo games.)

Focused on the casual market, thus giving the Wii the library it has, i find the PS3/360 libraries vastly superior. And not enough Zelda, Starfox or Kirby... And too much Mario.
