http://ps3.ign.com/articles/107/1074843p1.html

These articles are long and would take up a huge amount of space so I'll just add a synopsis of both articles.

Gamespot gave the game an 8.5 siting the same as most articles as flaws. Surprisingly they were more impressed with the linear parts than the open world Pulse saying that it actually derails the story and is excessively long. (paraphrase)

IGN is reserving its review score for Monday as they have not yet completed the game due to the PS3 date/clock crash earlier this week. They site most of the items as the Gamespot article, but display a biased toward the PS3 version of the game. Surprisingly Gamespot, whom is known for their 360 favoritism, wrote no mention of the commonly cited version difference. I'm quite impressed they reserved judgment and decided not to advocate for one version of the game over another.

Either way, for those of you that want to read them, here's the links to them. Enjoy!

to be fair... I am not sure that any site has scored differently due to "differences" in the game.

Absolutely, they haven't allowed it to effect the scoring, but there has been a verbal biased toward the PS3 version of the game. What irritated me the most in the early days of this generation was advocating one version over the other. I didn't like it when they were advocated the 360 versions of games and I don't like it now that they are doing it with PS3 versions, even if I favor the PS3.

RPGSite did

they gave PS3 version -- 85%

Xbox 360 Version -- 70%

I don't think anything can result in a 15% difference though, they have gone mad!

@OP

sorry its a repost..we had a thread on the gamespot review yesterday.

Day late and a dollar short, what can you do.

Those scores do display a pretty rediculous gap, I've not seen where the 360 version is that terribly flawed that it deserved a lower score.

I don't understand. The PS3 version is clearly better and you are impressed they didn't write about it like they did in the past when a PS3 port was worse?

show me where a PS3 version that isn't broken received 1.5 less...

also it should be noted that while resolution is down - framerate is better on 360 version.

1.5 is stupid and would only work if the game had gameplay issues... it doesnt have gameplay issues.

Where did you read the PS3 version has noticable framerate issues?

I think you sound like the kind of guy who would rave about GTA IV's cutscenes on the XBox 360 running at ~30 FPS instead of hollywood movie-like 24 FPS on the PS3. Pretty meaningless.

The game is running in 576p on the 360, surely it should be easy to keep the game locked to 30 FPS (it isn't though) on the 360.

Perhaps it speaks to Gamespot's bias that they did not favor one over the other, but I think its a step in the right direction that the gaming press reserve personal bias when the flaws are negligable. In the case of this game, the flaws on the 360 version aren't that huge that I would consider it worthy of a lower score or a flat out bias.

My signature should speak to which system I obviously favor, but I'm also not a journalist in the gaming industry which gives me the right to a bias. Plain and simple, the PS3 needs no defending when discussing its superiority so why bold face, underline, and size 20 font that fact? Let the flood of awesome games, both past and present, speak for itself.
