It was the internal battery so even people who were never online with a ps3 were affected......which ever OS you install doesnt help either.

it didn't stop you from doing anything but playing games that were trophy enabled though. Linux OS worked flawlessly. If they were using them for games, then yeah, would of been down for a day. Still not nearly as bad as the christmas XBL was down for a whole week.

false, every ps3 that used that particular chip were affected. But still, it only lasted 24 hours and only stopped you from playing trophy enabled games. Every other feature of the ps3 including non-trophy enabled games worked just as usual. I guess the clock went off, but thats no big deal, the front end clock could easily be reset.
