according to SCE the PS3 has a 10 year cycle, whether or not its true its a confirm 100% this gen PS3 will finish 3rd, sorry to say, even finishing 2nd is bleak for them. it was too late for them to make the turn around.
i'll make a bet "IF the PS3 can finish 2nd with a gap of 10 million or more over the 360, i'll eat my shoe" for real.

how do i know if you don't like eating shoes like this guy?

If Sony could have made the PS3 and reasonably sold it for $299, MS probably could have made and reasonably sold the 360 for $199 at launch. So what does that get us? I have no idea. Sony would be in 2nd that's for sure, if not first.

Although it means the PS3 would have been less powerful, less featured and obvioulsly no Blu-ray, it probably would have been the market leader by now. It wouldn't have all been good news though because they would have lost the HD format wars.

The only reason IMO that they have little sales is because of the f-ing $600 price they had at launch

That was the cost of implementing Blu-ray, 1 year late and too expensive..

Assuming they don't go bankrupt? First place.

4 ≈ One

ah shucks no one got the Segagaga and Sega joke.

I cry now.

Too much success sometimes isn´t a good thing...having obliterated the competition in the 5th and 6th generations with the PS1 and PS2 (especially with the PS2), clearly got to Sony´s heads...they greatly overestimated the strenght of the brand and thought they could get away with a $600 launch price....but I guess they learned their lesson, which is a good thing.

Well Leo-j is right they'd be bankrupt.

Say they had a money tree all of a sudden and could do this, I'd say they'd have about 2-3x more consoles sold and Wii wouldn't be nearly as popular. Also 360 wouldn't be as big.
