Bionic commando for NES.
thought it was boring first, but it gets more fun the more I play it.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I've not bought much this year as I've been trying to make a dent in my backlog, and I've been flooded out of my home (fortunately, I can game on my laptop, and I've just taken the PS3 over to my temporary accomodation -- which has a 40" flatscreen; that'll do!). What I've bought so far this year is:
Psychonauts (PC): Only £1 on Steam. I've still to play it for more than 5 minutes. I will get there.
Mass Effect 2 (PC): The weak story (when compared to ME) and lack of gameplay options left me disappointed, but still a fine game for what it is. Completed it three times now. 8/10
Rome (Total War) + all expansions (PC): Got it in a sale as it was the only Total War game I didn't own on Steam. Well worth it. Awesome game. 9/10
Peggle (PSN): Not really that good, but by golly it sucks you in. Gaming crack. 7/10
Heavy Rain (PS3): Not as broad as I'd hoped, but still very good. 8/10
Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgement (PSN): Exactly as I expected. I'm enjoying it for what it is. 5/10
Also, beyond games I've bought, I've also completed (or played a hell of a lot):
Mass Effect (PC): Third completion. One of the best stories in gaming. Truly awesome for all it is seriously flawed (and it looks unexpectedly great in 1080p at full settings, even though it's ageing a little). 9/10
Plants vs. Zombies (PC): Lovely game. 9/10
Plants vs. Zombies (iPod): Limited in comparison to the PC version, but a fraction of the price and more intuative to play. 9/10
Anno 1404 (PC): Utterly beautiful game that has sucked many hours from my life. 8/10
Also, this topic has reminded me I owe someone a letter. I have been woefully remiss.
No More Heroes 2
This game is so polished and so much better than the first that I may never play the original again.
This is a real AAA game and a true GOTY contender and I mean not just on Wii but period.
It got ignored in sales thanks to no marketing. One of the best games this gen.
Endless Ocean:Blue world Loved the first and this is also better and more of the same.
Fun game and came with a free wii speak I may never use but hey it was free plus amazon gave it to me for less than 20$.
Fun game.
Bought a lot of older games which I won't bother to list because I haven't had time to play them yet.
New games:
Endless Ocean: Blue World (Wii, Nintendo / Arika) I loved the original, and this one already looks much better, has way more features and content, and... SHARKS! AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!11!1! Grade: SHAAAARKS!!!!! ;_;
Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii, Capcom / 8ing) Holy fuck, AWESOME! Looks great, plays even better, tons of additions, spectacular cast. Probably the best game of Q1 so far, Versus is BACK. I only wish I already had that CC Pro (damn you NOA!). Grade: A
(yes, I copied pasted but jarrod summed it up so well) These are my favorite games currently. EO:BW is in particular getting a lot of love.
Pinball Hall of Fame: Gottlieb Collection - Inferior to the Williams Collection in everyway as this is a GC port but still a lot of fun to be had and well worth it's minor cost if your a pinball fan.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - Unfinished - Excellent so far. Great graphics and atmosphere. I have been waiting for a game like this for Wii since '06. Finally!!! SH:SM looks like it'll live up to all my hopes for a horror with Wii controls.
Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces - Unfinished - Excellent so far. Impressive graphics for the planes and controls great. Enjoying it so far. Finally a GOOD air Sim for Wii. Extremely limited distribution though.
On my to get list:
Sam & Max 2, Dragon's Age, Alan Wake and a lot of other games when they get dirt cheap.
The Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Great game! I love the multiplayer. Real shame they're closing it.
White Knight Chronicles
Huge disappointment, obviously. But ok nonetheless.
Heavy Rain
Haven't played much yet but great so far.
Mass Effect 2 (PC) - Greatly improved sequel. Very pleased with it.
Dragon Age (PC) - Have been in contact with EA for a month and a half trying to get it working. I did enjoy what little I've played though.
White Knight Chronicles (PS3) - Very disappointed. Sold before I finished.
Mount and Blade (PC) - It's pretty damn fun so far.
Spell Force 2 (PC) - Bought it on sale. Have yet to play it.
Pixeljunk Shooter (PSN) - Great game.
Haven't yet bought anything for Wii yet this year as I have quite the sizable backlog to catch up on.

Out of those games. The only one i've played and beaten is Rise of the Argonauts. Which is a technical mess, but i thought the game was easily a 7.0 game. It's underrated, and a great rental for any fan of mythology. Bought the game for cheap $9.99 so i thought it was worth it.
