Well sir, I find the fact you suggest we use bittorrent sites to have no merit. *cough*

That's the key right there. When piracy is not only cheaper, but far more user-friendly, what do they think people are going to do? It's simple economics, just like how people will pay more for something that's easier to do (like how console games are generally easier to acquire legitimately than to pirate, whereas its the other case for a lot of PC software), but legitimate PC software generally has no economic advantage (aside from the hazier concept of increased risk of prosecution).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This is exactly what Valve said, and I agree with them - and you. Legally buying and using something, should almost never be more difficult than taking an illegal route (firearms being the obvious exception that comes to mind).
If companies like Ubi are going to make the whole consumer experience actually painful (and they are) then I won't buy from them. The easy next step, particularly if I've feeling vindictive, is to take the easy route and pirate from them.
Ubisoft should make it a joy to buy and play Assassin's Creed 2 on PC, for example, not a chore.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

totally agree here. If a company makes good software/hardware/games/music/whatever and sells it at a fair price and gives me reasonable freedom of action on what devices I can copy it to etc, I have no problem with paying for it. Heck, I'll even pay for it just to help support them even I could get it for free relatively easily through pirating. But if you're going to make it a pain in the ass to do it legitimately (I'm looking at you ubisoft), why the heck would I not pirate it? Like seriously, I could pirate Assassin's Creed for the PC far easier than I could actually get the damn thing to load from a legit install disc and I then would be able to play it without ahving to worry about finding a wifi access point. what the hell they've got to be thinking is beyond me..
OT: awesome comic.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Take Apple for example.
They sell because of user friendliness even though they stuff are way expensive.

I want you to know that I hate you when you're reasonable.

I think you just did! Don't worry, though, I'm seriously considering setting up an Alt called 'Unreasonable' which I would use when I'm in a bad mood. I've been seatching for the right Avatar to convey this mindset.
