Definitely, I mean... God of War II released in 2007... that's after the PS3 launched for goodness sakes. And for the game to sell that much... PS2 was/is such a beast 
God of War 3 will be a big seller, no doubt about it.
Gow 2
-was on PS2's last year before moving on to PS3
-was heavily pirated
-not everyone played it alot of people bought a 360 and forgot about PS2

-is hyped above the roof
-heavily marketed
-on current gen console
-teh graphix
in other words. of course it will

GoW III will sell more but I think it should be remembered that GoW II others sales are probably badly outdated.
