well according to vgchartz it sold 250k on wii and 150k on hd systems combined so it's probably a good decision.

So....their games are getting more booboo, so they put it on the Wii to nix the HD development cost, so next year they can take on EA's NHL game?

"Hockey is niche" doesn't sound like that's the correct excuse. More like "our game isn't selling as well, so we'll take a back seat in terms of spending money so that we can make a better game next year so it'll sell more".

But hey, in terms of the Wii, a win is a win, right?

A multiplatform game that brings close to zero(?) profit in the HD twins and turns a Wii exclusive for better overall game quality?


I wonder if this unique move succeeds we'll see some stuff like this from other developers that are literally sinking money on HD research and development for nothing.


Apart of all this, I found the last NHL title pretty weak, the motion controls was nothing brilliant. Just like enhanced waggle, the bat doesn't move 1:1 freely. It has a fixed axis.

But this rant-micro-review comes from a person which doesn't enjoy at all NHL so...

I seriously don't see what is to celebrate here. They are skipping this year to make a better game so they can compete, but still made a Wii version, Am I missing something here.

EA's NHL series is way better so I don't get the big deal. If I was a Wii owner I'd still pick NHL 10 over 2k10 even if its exclusive.
