I want to play Heavy Rain! I will!

So being linear automatically drops it's score? I guess you hate most games that are not WRPGs? I'm also confused on how you think it looks bad? I thought it looked phenomenal. I mean, a little drop in framerate with the flashlight in bright areas but good nonetheless. 

T_T; Did you not understand the point of the chase scenes? And why did you not mention the story at all?

I think it's silly to called SH:SM a terrible game. Maybe one that doesn't suit your tastes, but terrible? Far from it.

Heavy Rain becuase Silent Hill was good but way weak next to Silent Hill 2 and while different a little too close to the plot of Silent Hill which I've clearly already played, plus the combat (or running away) while good in it's use of the Wiimote felt a little lame to me and not properly 'Silent Hill' enough.

For me Silent Hill peaked with 2, was okay in 3, better than given credit for in 4 then crashed afterwards although Shattered Memories is better than the recent PS3/360 outing.

Heavy Rain I found much more intense by comparison (to be fair having played all the Silent Hill games I probably suffer from overexposure to that franchise with HR obviously feeling fresh and original). Also, as a parent the very real tension from the premise in HR obviously felt more immediate and realistic than a fantasy involving monsters, etc. - much as I clearly like that fantasy, particularly if it's called Silent Hill 2.

TBH, I want a great HD Silent Hill on PS3 that emulates the mood of SH2 with amazing, hi-res visuals for the otherworld and the monsters and Konami screwed the pooch on that, and I'm not forgiving them just because another developer did a decent job on Wii with the franchise.

I don't think the number of people that actually played Silent hill Shattered memories and Heavy rain is very big right now...

Most people haven't even finished Heavy rain, or even bought it.

Silent hill didn't got that many sales.

And they are not on the same platform.

I'd love to see the dense, psycho-sexual style of SH2 return in a similar premise - forget the Western preoccupation with trying to 'explain' the mystery, reasons, etc. - take an apparently normal guy like James from Silent Hill 2, and take us on another dark decent into the heart of someone's broken psyche.  And do it in HD with amazing visuals.

Off topic - I'm really enjoying HR but I played it while way too tired last night and accidently made a different choice than intended.  I'm going to live with it, but in a way I was really impressed with how it worked and my sudden sense of having abruptly interrupted the normal flow of the game.

I see that is lists chapters, does that mean you can replay them within the current narrative later or do you have to start a new story each time to try for a different play though?  I dove straight into the game and actually didn't even look at the manual (I made my origami though!) so haven't a clue what options I have in that regard.

SH: Shattered Memories was like this sublime macabre on ice.

I'd like to play Heavy Rain, but would rather wait, and pray, for Shenmue III; King of the QTEs!
