Well I have never played Demon's Souls. But there are some tough fights in the game. It is harder than FF XIII. Especially the secret bonus dungeon, that can be intense.

I think Demon's Souls is more difficult overall because you have a constant fear of death in Demon's Souls no matter where you go or what you fight. Resonance of Fate is more about spikes in difficulty with most fights being pretty easy to win if you use your regular strategy but then you'll get thrown into something that seems completely impossible until you perfect your strategy.
