Forums - Nintendo - The Nintendo repair service appreciation thread

One day I wanted to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl but my Wii didn't read the disc. I discover that some Wiis sometimes have issues reading double layer DVDs. I spend 14 dollars for an official Wii lense cleaner which didn't help. Then I go to Nintendo's repair service website and it said they will repair my Wii for free.

That very day I accidently broke the Wii disc drive by dropping it when I took the Wii out to package it for shipping. It would make funny noises when it started up and it would rarely take a disc and if it did it was difficult to eject the disc. So I was like "uh oh, are they are going to charge extra for this"?

I went to UPS and they shipped it (Nintendo paid for the shipping) and less than a week later I get my Wii back but in better looking condition. If I didn't know any better I would say they gave me a brand new Wii. My old Wii had scratches, cracks, and dents everywhere. Or they could have just replaced the casing.

The only downside is that everything that I have saved on my Wii was lost and trust me I had a lot saved. I still can redownload stuff of the Wii shop channel I paid for and I still have my measly 11 Wii points.

I still appreciate Nintendo for going the extra mile with no expenses on my behalf.

The fact that they fix my DS's touch screen when it was scratched. They did it good job on it. It feels new

don't forget that they still repaired NES and SNES systems well into the 2000's and only stopped because they ran out of parts.

That's cool.

Yeah Another great thing about your wii getting repaired by Nintendo is they give you a fresh one year warranty. I've had my wii 3 years under warranty now because of that. First time was the Smash bros disc reading problem. They gave me a free fix and a one year extension. About a year later my wii was a little loud when playing games. I called them up and free fix one year extension. Now my wii occasionally freezes once out of every 20 game play hours I think I'll get it exchanged again.

i also had to send in my wii because of brawl and also my gamecube memorycard flap was broken and they repaired that too and to add on that the also gave me a brand new wiimote because the forth led light didnt work!!! (i know its a new one besause mine had a major crack where the infrared camera was)

I sent mine in for that graphical glitch with the green bars from Wiiconnect24.

They fixed it and mailed it back in less than a week good as new. Fantastic service.
