Take a look at this link , in the topic "DEVELOPMENT" ...i guess i made my point showing you that the other M has a totally different development format than assault ...

About the sales we must consider the time here , see back in 90' Star Fox was a first line Nintendo game myself all ready sad that , now lets take a look at the sales for the series in the last decade , in the same way that Metroid was not in the first line during the '90

but i will say we may never EVER get to a conclusion on this topic , cuz what its main and what is second line for Nintendo (we will never know) and this kind of stuff changes all the time , but the main point for all of this talk is OTHER M is not developed by a third-party in the same way that Star fox assult was ... and the main main question of all of this is OTHER M will sucks or not , and i bet with you that it wont having a score under 90% on metacritics if you want ...

I'm not betting against you. I have never insinuated that Other M will be subpar (though I am personally skeptic towards it), if you look through my posts I never used the 3rd party argument either - I've only said that if Metroid counts as a main series then Star Fox should as well. I've also said that neither of the two should count as a main series.

other M and star fox assault ar eboth main series, they are not spin offs just because they are developed by different people

those wanting gameplay footage shouldnt expect anything official until sakamotos GDC presentation

We're not arguing whether the games are part of their main series (of course they are), but rather what series are Nintendo's main series.

What does "main series" even mean? There are bigger series, and there are smaller series. Metroid is certain not one of the bigger ones (though it's not exactly tiny either). 2.8 million is the top selling Metroid game, which pales in comparison to many of Nintendo's franchises.

I personally see Nintendo's "main series" as Mario, Pokémon and Zelda. Spinoffs and crossovers not quite counted, but of course Mario Kart and Smash Bros. are huge as well. It's not really something you can define, though, because everyone has their own opinions of it.
